Latest NewsSaints | Erik Swoope released (Thu Dec 13, 04:50 PM) - New Orleans Saints TE Erik Swoope was released Thursday, Dec. 13, according to a source. Swoope was claimed by the Saints Wednesday, Dec. 12. Our View: That didn't last long. Swoope has a basketball skill set he brings to the football field but has been released a few times this year by two teams (Colts, Saints).
link to story Saints | New Orleans adds Erik Swoope (Wed Dec 12, 07:37 PM) - Free-agent TE Erik Swoope (Colts) was claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, Dec. 12. Our View: Swoope, a former basketball player from the University of Miami, has flashed when healthy. Landing with the Saints is quite interesting from a dynasty perspective but he's unlikely to make much of an impact in re-draft leagues.
link to story Colts | Erik Swoope waived (Tue Dec 11, 04:37 PM) - Indianapolis Colts TE Erik Swoope was waived Tuesday, Dec. 11. Our View: Swoope, a former basketball player from the University of Miami, has been waived by the Colts before this year. He's physically gifted but has yet to develop in a few years with the Colts. Mo Alie-Cox works uncontested as the backup behind Eric Ebron going forward.
link to story Colts | Indianapolis' injury report for Week 14 (Fri Dec 7, 03:05 PM) - Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (calf), WR Dontrelle Inman (shoulder), C Ryan Kelly (knee) and S Mike Mitchell (calf) were unable to practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 14 versus the Houston Texans. DL Denico Autry (back) did not practice on Friday, Dec. 7, and is listed as questionable. WR T.Y. Hilton (shoulder), DT Margus Hunt (knee) and CB Christopher Milton (hamstring) were limited in practice Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Nate Hairston (ankle) returned to a full practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. OT Anthony Castonzo (knee), S Clayton Geathers (knee), S Malik Hooker (hip) and LB Anthony Walker (knee) did not practice Friday but are not listed on the injury report. TE Erik Swoope (knee) was limited in practice Friday but was also not included on the injury report. TE Eric Ebron (back, illness) and WR Chester Rogers (groin) were full participants in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report. Our View: Autry had a massive impact last week with three sacks and two forced fumbles. He would be greatly missed against Deshaun Watson if he can't go with Margus Hunt also ailing. Kelly will be missed on the offensive line against the Texans strong pass rush. The Colts are far from full strength for this pivotal game.
link to story Colts | Thursday injury report for Colts (Thu Dec 6, 03:30 PM) - Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (calf), DE Margus Hunt (knee), WR Dontrelle Inman (shoulder), C Ryan Kelly (knee), FS Mike Mitchell (calf), CB Nate Hairston (ankle), CB Christopher Milton (hamstring) and TE Erik Swoope (knee) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 6. FS Malik Hooker (hip) and WR Chester Rogers (groin) were limited. S Clayton Geathers (knee) was a full participant. Our View: Inman is a deep sleeper this week with the numbers the Colts second-tier receivers put up against the Texans in the first matchup, but if he can't get in a full practice tomorrow, he'll be impossible to trust even in deep leagues.
