2019 Week 1 vs MIN (6 / 31 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

A bright spot during this debacle, Smith's best gain was a 17-yard run on a cutback from a two tight end set and later in the same drive a pass reception that set up a short-yardage run for a first down. Smith had a pair of blitz pickup opportunities during the game. The first came late in the half when he got pushed back into Matt Ryan's lap by Anthony Barr and the second was a nice pick-up through the A gap that set up a third-down conversion for Austin Hooper. Smith later spun off a pair of tackles on a cutback during the fourth quarter.

2019 Week 2 vs PHI (4 / 32 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)

He weaved his way for a first down on a 2nd and 1 during the first drive after Freeman earned four carries early on. Smith dropped a high throw in the flat on 2nd and 16 during the first drive after taking a hit. He earned a quick five yards leaking from the backfield to begin the second drive with the offense backed up at its one yard-line. Smith later weaved his way through traffic for four yards on a screen pass late in the second quarter. Taking over for Freeman inside the 5 after Freeman's 29-yard shovel-pas-and-runs to open the third quarter, Smith had the best run of the night late in the third quarter on a draw play where he made multiple defenders miss.

2019 Week 3 vs IND (1 / 0 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

The Colts stuffed Smith on a shotgun run off left end during the first drive. Smith tried bouncing a third and five run outside during the first drive but the Colts stuffed him and a holding call pushed Atlanta further back during this initial series. Smith staggered off the sideline on the following play when he was blocking as a pass protector. He was helped off the field by a pair of trainers. He was evaluated for a concussion as well as a neck injury.

2019 Week 4 vs TEN (2 / 11 / 1 rush, 4 / 2 / 20 / 0 rec)

He took an I-formation, inside zone run for 10 yards up the middle to the Titans' 1. He followed up with a score off right guard to tie the game. Ryan overshot Smith in the left flat on 1st and 10 with a lot of room up the left flat in the red zone. Pressure forced Ryan to hurry the throw. Smith earned a pair of check-downs in garbage-time.

2019 Week 5 vs HOU (5 / 19 / 0 rush, 6 / 6 / 45 / 0 rec)

He gained three on his first touch during the third possession after executing a cutback to right guard. He then cut down hill on the next run designed for an off-tackle play and earned 11 yards. Smith earned a yard later in the series up the middle to end the first quarter. Smith picked up a first down from a shotgun play on third and short. Smith committed a holding call on Bradley Roby to prevent the cornerback blitz from earning the sack. A few plays later, he caught a short pass and the Texans committed a facemask penalty that put the ball in the red zone and prevented a third and short. Smith got run over by Zach Cunningham's pressure up the middle on the next play and he held the blitzer to prevent another sack. Smith couldn't avoid a pair of flat defenders on a short pass after his second penalty and earned only a few yards. Smith earned a dump-off on 3rd and 20 for a gain of 10 and Atlanta punted away Atlanta's first drive of the third quarter. Smith stumbled after the catch of an empty set slant in the left flat on third down in the red zone and came up a yard short while down 16 points early in the fourth quarter. Two plays later, the Texans stuffed Smith on a run from the one up left guard.

He got stuffed on his first carry for a short loss in the red zone late in the second quarter. Smith earned a first down just before the two-minute warning on a short run off left tackle late in the game with the Cardinals ahead 34-27.

2019 Week 7 vs LAR (1 / 7 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Smith earned seven yards up the middle after Atlanta crossed midfield during its initial drive. Corey Littleton ran over Smith during a third-down blitz pickup and Smith was on the field for some time with the before getting carted off. He was hit helmet to helmet and knocked backward onto his head and flat on his back.

2018 Week 2 vs CAR (9 / 46 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

The rookie replaced Coleman after Coleman earned a strong gain on a toss play during the first Falcons drive and took the same play call as Coleman up the right side for a first down but Smith committed a facemask on the tackling defender who also horse-collared Smith. Offsetting penalties nullified the play and he only gained two yards on the following play. Smith earned a first down in the middle of the second quarter on a run to left end and showcased an effective stiff arm. He earned another four up right guard to get Atlanta inside the 10 yard-line. Smith made multiple defender smiss with a cutback up the middle and earned a first down in the third quarter. Smith fumbled a red zone carry in the fourth quarter while up by seven Atlatna recovered.

2018 Week 3 vs NO (2 / -6 / 0 rush, 4 / 3 / 41 / 0 rec)

The rookie took a check-down from a play-action pass to cross midfield, taking it up the left sideline during the Falcons' second drive. He earned a toss left in the red zone after Calvin Ridley torched a pair of defensive backs for a 45-yard defensive pass interference penalty. The Saints stuffed Smith. He made two men miss on a check-down late in the third quarter to earn a first down late in the third quarter. He earned 19 more on a check-down up the middle and earned most of it untouched.

2018 Week 4 vs CIN (7 / 35 / 1 rush, 3 / 3 / 13 / 0 rec)

He scored on second and six from the seven on a power run to the left side. Smith bounced outside the designated crease that the Bengals closed and ran through a wrap inside the five to reach the end zone standing up. Smith took Atlanta to the Bengals 18 with a cutback on an outside zone for 11 yards in a three-receiver set. Smith earned red zone touches in multiple drives, which shows he's earning the role Coleman has when Devonta Freeman is healthy.

He earned a short-yardage carry during the first quarter with Mohamad Sanu as the shotgun quarterback. Smith earned a touchdown on a quick cutback up the middle from the Atlanta two on a fourth-quarter drive.

2018 Week 6 vs TB (11 / 22 / 1 rush, 2 / 2 / -1 / 0 rec)

He lost yards trying to reverse field on a toss to the right side that was cut off by Gerald McCoy's penetration. Ito Smith earned a touchdown on a run untouched up the backside after the Buccaneers put two defenders in the same gap and left a cutback lane open for Smith. He earned another easy gain of six yards on a toss to the left before shut down on a third look to the left. The Buccaneers shut down Smith in the third and early fourth-quarter with better gap discipline. He picked his way for a short gain on third and one for a first down midway through the fourth quarter but was stuffed for less than one on a run inside to try to exploit the loss of Gerald McCoy earlier in the drive. Smith decided to run across a zone on a route where he was the check-down at the left flat and Ryan led him into a defender for a stuff but it was Smith who should have stayed settled in the zone rather than run.

2018 Week 7 vs NYG (7 / 16 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 29 / 0 rec)

He picked his way for three yards up the middle on his first carry on 2nd and 11 early in the second quarter. Ryan found Smith for 20 yards on a shallow cross versus a corner and safety blitz from the same side for a first down to reach the Atlanta 40. Smith was split outside on the drive. Smith earned a crease up the middle for a short-yardage conversion from a three-tight end set. Smith backed his way on second and six for five yards with three minutes left to set up a short-yardage play with an eight-point lead but the Falcons committed a false start.

2018 Week 9 vs WAS (10 / 60 / 1 rush, 2 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)

The runner earned a first down on a short pass to the left flat during the third series of the game. Smith earned eight yards up right tackle from shotgun for eight yards during the third drive of the game. Smith earned another big crease on third and short for another 6-8 ayrds. Smith picked up four strong blocks at the line of scrimmage and hurdled the shoot of a DB to earn a touchdown midway through the second quarter. Smith earned a strong crease off right tackle on a toss play in thie third quarter for a gain of four. Smith earned 11 yards up the left side of the line on a toss play early in the fourth quarter.

2018 Week 10 vs CLE (4 / 11 / 0 rush, 5 / 4 / 15 / 0 rec)

Cleveland's Joe Schobert stuffed Smith on third and one on a toss play but Atlanta went for it on fourth down and used a read-option play with Mohammed Sanu as the signal caller handing the ball to Smith for the first down at the end of the first quarter. Smith couldn't outrun backside pursuit on a short reception during the two-minute drill after the Falcons gave up the lead and then Ryan overthrew Smith in the flat. He got swarmed mid-fourth quarter on a reception to the right flat and then earned eight on the next play on a catch in the left flat.

2018 Week 11 vs DAL (6 / 10 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 12 / 0 rec)

The Cowboys hemmed in Smith on all three of his first runs in the first half. He earned four yards up right guard early in the fourth quarter. He earned five yards on a toss play to the left from the Dallas 11 midway through the fourth quarter. He earned a few more off left tackle on the next play. Smith earned nine just inside the two-minute warning on a short throw.

2018 Week 12 vs NO (4 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 7 / 0 rec)

Coleman's reserve didn't make an impact until 30 seconds left in the half with a crossing route for a first-down conversion. When he earned touches during the second half, he didn't gain much against the run-blitzing Saints but he showed more patience and control of his footwork, despite not earning a first down on a short-yardage run that forced an Atlanta punt.

2018 Week 13 vs BAL (7 / 22 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 0 / 0 rec)

He earned 11 on the third play of the game from an I-formation split zone run up the middle. Smith earned two on the opening play of the third drive after running through a wrap four yards in the backfield by Terrell Suggs and staggering to the left edge. He broke another tackle on a toss right on the next play to earn three. The Ravens reached the backfield on both runs and disrupted Smith. Nice cut back to the middle by Smith for a first down in the middle of the second quarter.

2018 Week 14 vs GB (11 / 60 / 0 rush, 4 / 3 / 14 / 0 rec)

He pushed forward at left guard for 3-4 yards on his first carry during Atlanta's second drive of the day. Smith made the first man miss at the entrance of the crease and earned 4-5 on the next play. He bounced off two glancing blows for 17 yards on one of two runs netting 20 yards late in the half, getting Atlanta across midfield. Smith got stuffed on a third and short in the fourth quarter, forcing Atlanta to go for it and find the runner in the right flat for a first down on a short pass.

2018 Week 15 vs ARI (9 / 34 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 5 / 0 rec)

He earned three yards to the Cardinals' 9 on his first carry in the second quarter. He earned a first down on a swing pass to the left flat two plays later. He spun inside a defender to reach the one, setting up a Ryan sneak for the touchdown. He earned five up the middle to reach the Cardinals' 34 yard-line during the next series. Smith hopped over penetration up the middle and worked to left end for a few yards. He earned 16 halfway through the third quarter through a huge hole on the backside of the offensive line when Atlanta used Ben Garland as a tight end. Smith lost a few yards two plays later on a throwback screen that Arizona anticipated well. Smith earned six up left guard at the end of the third quarter.
