Recent Game Summaries
2018 Week 17 vs SEA (4 / 2 / 23 / 0 rec)
Sherfield had his worst game in a month as Chad Williams returned to the lineup and Arizona struggled all game as a passing offense. Sherfield had a single catch until the mid-fourth quarter with a seam reception for nearly 20 yards. Sherfield benefitted from injuries on the Arizona wide receiver depth chart over the second half of the season, but expect reinforcements added in the offseason plus Christian Kirk returning from injury in 2019.
2018 Week 16 vs LAR (6 / 6 / 62 / 0 rec)
Even with Chad Williams back in the lineup, Sherfield was the unquestioned secondary receiver to Larry Fitzgerald against the Rams. Sherfield caught all six of his targets with two highlight plays among them. First, Sherfield made a nice move after-the-catch turning a hitch route into more than 10 yards. Also, Sherfield made a highlight toe-tap on a sideline route, the best catch by Arizona in the game and one of the better plays by receivers around the NFL of the week.
2018 Week 15 vs ATL (5 / 3 / 15 / 1 rec)
In back-to-back games, Sherfield has emerged as the clear secondary receiver to Larry Fitzgerald with the absence of Christian Kirk. Sherfield found the end zone against Atlanta, the first of his career, in garbage time and had a touchdown opportunity on a sideline target earlier in the game. Sherfield dropped a slant target on the negative side for his performance, but the five targets and more than 90 yards over the past two games are promising signs for the undrafted rookie late in a lost Arizona season.
2018 Week 14 vs DET (7 / 5 / 77 / 0 rec)
With Christian Kirk to injured reserve, Sherfield filled the void as the secondary receiver to Larry Fitzgerald against the Lions. Sherfield was the highlight player for Arizona in the loss with a collection of strong plays from a sliding reception to a highly-contested grab, and drawing a deep pass interference penalty. It was a career day for the undrafted receiver out of Vanderbilt, seeing more targets and receptions this week than the rest of the season combined.
