Game Recaps

2017 Week 17 vs DEN (14 / 40 / 1 rush, 4 / 3 / 21 / 0 rec)

The fullback ended up being the lead back after Akeem Hunt went down. He finished one drive with a one-yard plunge and also converted a fourth-down on a field goal drive that included a failed carry from the one for Sherman. Sherman failed to move the offense on two fourth-quarter drives, but then got positive yardage on the game-winning drive to set up a chipshot for Harrison Butker.

2014 Week 3 vs MIA (1 / 4 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 1 / 0 rec)

Sherman had one grab and one red zone carry to pick up a 3rd and 1. Even with Charles out, he was not heavily involved in the offense.

2014 Week 7 vs SD (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 12 / 1 rec)

Sherman had two catches in the game and scored a rare touchdown. He broke three tackles on a slow developing screen play then chugged into the end zone.

2014 Week 8 vs STL (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 24 / 0 rec)

For the second week in a row Sherman made a big play in the passing game. On the final play of the third quarter Sherman caught a pass in the flats, broke a tackle and rumbled for a 24 yard gain.

2013 Week 1 vs JAX (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 4 / 4 / 44 / 0 rec)

In an unlikely twist, Sherman led the team in receptions and receiving yards. His production gives a glimpse as to how much more production Jamaal Charles could have had if he'd simply caught the ball. Sherman was hard to bring down in the open field and broke several tackles on his way to 44 receiving yards.

2013 Week 5 vs TEN (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)

Sherman saw two targets in the passing game and caught both balls. Both receptions came in the red zone and both times he bounced off more than one tackler before being taken down.

2013 Week 7 vs HOU (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 4 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Sherman was very good in the run blocking game, but didn't see any carries. He caught his first target for a nine yard slant, but dropped a ball in the flats shortly after. Sherman's second catch did come in the flat, but he was cut down immediately.

2013 Week 8 vs CLE (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 23 / 1 rec)

Sherman had 3 catches for 23 yards and they all came on the same drive. After being smothered on his first catch, Sherman got creative. After his second grab he hurdled Joe Haden to pick up 8 yards and a first down. Sherman ended the drive with a 12 yard touchdown reception on 3rd and 10. The screen pass was beautifully blocked and Sherman did a good job setting them up. He went in untouched for the first touchdown of his career.

2013 Week 9 vs BUF (1 / 2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

As usual Sherman spent most of his day blocking but he did get his first carry of the year on a third and one in the red zone. The call clearly surprised the Bills as Sherman picked up three and the first down.

2013 Week 11 vs DEN (1 / 1 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)

Sherman was featured in the passing game early, with mixed results. He caught Smith's first completion in the flats off play action and then craftily scooted up field for a 16 yard gain and a first down. His second reception didn't end near as well. After securing the catch Sherman was grabbed by the ankle and then took a big hit from a second defender causing a fumble. While he wasn't used in the passing game after that, he did get stuffed on a goal line carry later in the game.

2013 Week 12 vs SD (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Sherman wasn't as active in the passing game as he has been and had just one reception. That eight yard pickup was a key one because he caught the ball in the flats and had to power through two tackles to pick up the first down.

2013 Week 13 vs DEN (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Sherman was targeted twice in the passing game, dropping one and catching another. The one he caught put him in a one-on-one situation in the open field but he was taken down by an ankle tackle. Unless he's wide open there doesn't seem to be much of a point to throwing to the fullback.

2013 Week 15 vs OAK (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Sherman had two catches in the game including one to run out the clock in the 4th quarter on the next to last play of the game.

2013 Week 18 vs IND (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 1 / 1 rec)

Sherman caught Alex Smith's third touchdown pass on a shovel pass with Sherman cutting across the field at the one yard line.
