RB Owen Schmitt - Free Agent
|6-2, 247||Born: 2-13-1985||College: West Virginia||Drafted: Round 5, pick 0|
2012 Week 12 vs CIN (1 / -1 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
On Schmitt's lone offensive touch, he received a carry on a fourth down and short play late in the first half. He was stuffed at the line of scrimmage and stalled Oakland's best chance to score in the first half.
2010 Week 2 vs DET (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 21 / 0 rec)
Schmitt didn't see any time rushing but he did convert both of his two targets into catches (for 8 and 13 yards, respectively). Both of these targets came on short throws to the left side of the field and Schmitt did what he could with what he was given. Both of Schmitt's catches set up a 14-yard TD run by LeSean McCoy.
2010 Week 3 vs JAX (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 6 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt was rarely used by the Eagles, as they tend to not employ two-back formations. Schmitt snagged two short passes from Michael Vick for minimal gains.
2010 Week 4 vs WAS (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 4 / 3 / 43 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt caught three short passes from Kevin Kolb as the Eagles' backup quarterback looked to dump the ball off to his running backs often against the Redskins. All three of Schmitt's catches were for 12 or more yards and a first down as Washington was more than happy to leave short passes available to the Eagles. Do not expect a big game from a fantasy perspective from Schmitt.
2010 Week 5 vs SF (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 19 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt had a few great blocks against the 49ers, but he also caught two short passes over the middle for solid gains. Schmitt is filling in for the injured Leonard Weaver and is performing admirably in the fullback role for the Eagles.
2010 Week 6 vs ATL (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / -1 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt caught one short pass for negative one yards on the final play of the first quarter. It was his only target in Week 6.
2010 Week 9 vs IND (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 12 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt caught one pass for a 12-yard catch and run gain late in the second quarter on his only target of the game.
2010 Week 13 vs HOU (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 5 / 1 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt had zero carries and just one catch in Week 13, but it was a big one. Schmitt lined up at his normal fullback spot in the fourth quarter with the Eagles threatening to score and then broke towards the left sideline at the snap. TE Brent Celek ran enough interference for him as he took his cover linebacker back into the end zone, creating a pick for Schmitt to have the entire end zone to himself. QB Michael Vick tossed Schmitt the ball for an easy five-yard score.
2010 Week 17 vs DAL (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 3 / 0 rec)
Fullback Owen Schmitt caught one short pass for a three yard gain in the second quarter on his only target of Week 17.
2009 Week 4 vs IND (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 3 / 1 rec)
Schmitt, the fullback, caught a TD pass late in the game, but otherwise did not factor into the offense.
2008 Week 3 vs STL (1 / 2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
The big rookie from West Virginia saw limited action in the fourth quarter.
2008 Week 10 vs MIA (3 / 19 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Schmitt took over for the injured Leonard Weaver, carrying the ball three times and adding a reception.
