Game Recaps

2011 Week 12 vs DET (2 / 10 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Rookie Brandon Saine saw very limited action in this game as the Packers begin to experiment with the RB corps, trying to get their running game back on track. He ran hard and made the most of his limited touches, taking his first reception on a quick swing pass and breaking outside for a nice nine yard gain. His two runs were for four and six yards respectively and it made for a nice debut.

2011 Week 13 vs NYG (6 / 16 / 0 rush, 6 / 4 / 29 / 0 rec)

Saine got more work after Starks went out, especially in the passing game. He displayed good hands on his receptions and the best burst of any Green Bay back by far. His use could be increased late in the season much like Starks use was last year.

2011 Week 14 vs OAK (1 / 7 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 14 / 0 rec)

Saine had a huge hole on his first carry, and 8 yard gain, but did not look very balanced running the ball. He left the game early with a head injury.

2011 Week 16 vs CHI (1 / 8 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Saine saw limited action in this game, just before half time. They brought him in, but split him out as a WR, hoping to get a favorable mismatch. It never happened, but he did have one carry - a nice off tackle run in the third quarter for an eight yard gain.

2011 Week 17 vs DET (8 / 28 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 17 / 0 rec)

With James Starks and Randall Cobb both inactive for the game, Saine saw extended time in the backfield and returning kicks for the Packers in this game. He saw action on the offensive side of the ball just before half-time, with a nice six yard sprint up the middle and a short, five yard check-down pass two plays later. He also was the primary ball carrier on the drive that ended with the Donald Driver touchdown. On the drive, he had four carries for 15 yards, including a nice a short swing pass that he took for a 10 yard gain.
