QB Brett Rypien - Denver Broncos
|6-2, 210||Born: 7-9-1996||College: Boise State||Drafted: ---|
There's a lot to like about Brett Rypien's game. He's smart and can diagnose a defense quickly to find the most favorable matchup. Rypien is accurate on the short-to-intermediate passing game and generally leads his receivers well. He was one of the most experienced quarterbacks in all of college football when it comes to dropping back from under center. In 2018, Rypien had 48 passing attempts from under center -- a rare number for today's college football, and a number that ranked 15th for all FBS quarterbacks. Most college quarterbacks (like his Broncos teammate Drew Lock) only have around five such passing attempts in a season. This skill makes him a great fit for the Broncos offense. Rypien should work as the no.3 quarterback behind Lock and understood starter Joe Flacco. We think Rypien is a spot starter and quality backup in the league, but will monitor his progress in dynasty formats to see if he could become more.
