Ruggs suffered a wound to his leg while moving objects on a truck and was seen on crutches but is expected to be ok
The Rookie Scouting Portfolio compares Henry Ruggs III to former Jets receiver Santana Moss, a productive 13-year veteran with deep speed, skill after the catch, and underrated rebounding ability for his size who played in an era where the defense still had a chance to defend receivers without laundry appearing all over the field. Ruggs should earn playing time at multiple spots for the Raiders and could benefit immediately from the volume. - Matt Waldman

Summary

The Raiders made Henry Ruggs the highest-drafted receiver in the 2020 class when they selected him 12th overall. Ruggs has dynamic speed, running a 4.27-forty yard dash at the NFL Combine. He was a big-play specialist at Alabama, scoring 25 touchdowns on just 100 touches in his three-year career. Unlike some other speedy wide receivers who were drafted highly in recent years, Ruggs also has a physical dimension to his game, excelling as a blocker and showing an ability to make tough catches in traffic. He could quickly become the top receiver for the Raiders. Ruggs has a clear path to a starting job as an outside wide receiver across from Tyrell Williams. He should instantly add a big-play element to the Raiders offense but it is less clear if he will ever develop into a high-volume pass catcher. Given the lack of offseason activities this summer, rookie wide receivers may have a tougher transition than normal. Ruggs is a late-round fantasy option with some upside but it may realistically be a year or more until he makes a fantasy impact. (May 2)
