Week 11: at Los Angeles Rams

All WR vs LAR

FBG says: Tough matchup. The Chicago Bears' passing attack has been one of the NFL's most underwhelming units, this season relative to preseason expectations after an exceptional 2018 campaign under the tutelage of Matt Nagy. Mitchell Trubisky's lack of development under center is likely the driving force behind Chicago's offensive struggles in 2019. Trubisky's inability to quickly process what the defense is showing him has hindered his development as a passer, and he enters week 11 ranked 32nd in the NFL with just 5.9 adjusted yards per attempt. At wide receiver, Allen Robinson continues to shine in spite of the sub-par quarterback play in Chicago. Robinson has led the Bears in targets every week this season, and with nearly nine targets per game, he is one of the league's most consistent producers at the position. Out of the backfield, Tarik Cohen is the team's next-most reliable pass-catcher. Cohen's 55 targets are almost twice as many as the third-most targeted player on the roster. As the team's passing-down running back, the majority of Cohen's action has come in games that the Bears have trailed. Chicago's offensive line has been one of the league's worst this season, particularly at left guard where Rashaad Coward has been a trainwreck filling in for former-Pro Bowl guard, Kyle Long. A difficult primetime matchup against the Los Angeles Rams' talented defense will prove to be a challenging game for Mitchell Trubsiky and the Bears' offense to right the ship in 2019. The Los Angeles' Rams' defense is one of the deepest and most talented units in the NFL. Their strength starts in the trenches, where they field one of the league's most imposing groups pass-rushers. Aaron Donald, Dante Fowler, Jr., and Clay Matthews have combined for 19.5 sacks already this season, one of the best marks of any trio in the league. Surprisingly, Donald has tallied the fewest sacks of the three, with 5.5 on the year. Still, his ability to command, and beat, double teams is unmatched in the trenches, which regularly frees other pass-rushers like Fowler, Jr., and Matthews to wreak havoc on opposing aerial attacks. Behind this formidable pass-rush, the Rams field elite coverage players at linebacker as well as in the secondary. Corey Littleton at linebacker, Eric Weddle at safety, and Jalen Ramsey at cornerback all rank towards the top of the league standings at their respective positions against the pass. Although their numbers, on the whole, have been unimpressive, they are mostly a product of tough matchups against high-volume passing attacks. The Rams have allowed only 2 300-yard passing performances this season, with 1 coming against the Bengals due to an extremely high-volume 53-pass-attempt day for Andy Dalton and Cincinnati's passing attack.
