Game Recaps

2015 Week 1 vs KC (5 / 22 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Despite his dancing on the field, Polk had a productive day when he touched the football. With a long run of 13 yards, Polk struggled running in between the tackles. After his big run he only had a long run of two yards on his remain four carries. He did catch one screen pass for nine yards. His numbers look decent on paper but his day was just two decent plays on the day.

2015 Week 2 vs CAR (14 / 38 / 0 rush, 8 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec)

It was a high volume day for Polk with 16 total touches but he had very little to show for it his total yardage. his runs are uneventful and his long run was for 13 yards on a simple and well blocked zone play. Polk continues to get plenty of touches on the field but he continues to have limited vision with the ball in his hands. His biggest moment came late in the game when the Texans were driving and he caught a pass in the flats with room to run but stepped out of bounds leaving at least seven yards on the field. His lack of awareness is something that continues to show the more he is on the field.

2015 Week 3 vs TB (5 / 5 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

it was an uneventful day for Polk, one key run for six yards but after that he was ineffective. Polk's lack of pass protection that led to an interception got him a place on the bench.

2015 Week 4 vs ATL (3 / 27 / 1 rush, 4 / 3 / 23 / 0 rec)

Polk ended up on the field after Foster was done for the day and ended up on the field for third down situations. Polk had a long run of 17 yards in garbage time and ended up getting a one-yard touchdown run after Blue could not finish a run on the goal line. If backfield was healthy and the Texans were keeping it close and productive Polk would have seen little time on the field.

2015 Week 5 vs IND (1 / 5 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 17 / 0 rec)

Polk ended up taking the snaps that Blue left on the field after going out injured. Polk had two receptions and was the primary back for pass pro in some 2-minute drill situations. He only had one run for 5-yards but his main purpose is to help in pass protection.

2015 Week 6 vs JAX (8 / 37 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 2 / 0 rec)

Chris Polk came in and gave Arian Foster the break he needed to take some workload off of him. He has a long run of 12 yards and was able to push ahead late in the game in some short yardage situations to help move the chains. Polk also had his mop up rushing yards late in the game when the Texans were up on the Jaguars.

2015 Week 7 vs MIA (4 / 4 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 14 / 0 rec)

Chris Polk did spot duty when Arian Foster needed a break and he continues to help in the passing game. He is doing majority of his work when he goes into routes in the flat and he had two key first down receptions for 8 and 6 yards. He continues to find his way on the field because of his ability to pass protect.

2015 Week 8 vs TEN (8 / 18 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)

Chris Polk much like Blue is getting touches when he comes in for Blue. Second on the team with 13 total touches for 22 total yards and he has been not been eating up yards like his counterpart in Blue. Polk is getting work on the field but not producing from a number standpoint.

2015 Week 13 vs BUF (12 / 61 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 11 / 1 rec)

Polk ended up being the go-to back for the offense and it was a surprise. He had his longest run of the season for 20 yards and after that averaged 4.0 yards a run on the other 10 carries. The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and made life easy for Polk running the ball. Polk got into the end zone on a 11 yard pass to the flats while running over a defender in the process and diving over the pylon. Today was easily the most productive day of Polk in a Texans uniform.

2015 Week 14 vs NE (11 / 34 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 14 / 0 rec)

Polk received his first NFL start and his hard running style produced only 34 yards with nine yards being his long run. The effort is there but the talent is suspect and he continues to be a straight ahead runner with little break away speed. Polk caught a nine yard pass from Hoyer in the flats early in the first quarter but it was an overall unimpressive day for Polk on the ground and through the air.

2015 Week 16 vs TEN (11 / 38 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Chris Polk found his was into the game late in the third quarter and ripped the longest run of the day for 17 yards when he went around the left side of the offensive line. Polk was brought in to ice the game and had runs of 6, 4 and a few two yard gains to complete his day. The Texans decided to rest Blue late in the game and opt for Polk, and it appears that Polk's time on the field is dwindling with Blue now being healthy.

2014 Week 3 vs WAS (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk did not have a single offensive play in the game but he did have one of the biggest plays on the day as he busted out a 102 yard kickoff return. He showed great vision on the return as he followed his blockers and used his speed to make the touchdown happen. 2014 Week 8 vs ARI (3 / 13 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 1 / 0 rec)

Polk's first carry was for a modest 4 yards but he did show some patience and followed his offensive line to gain positive yards. On Polk's next touch it came on a 1 yard screen pass as he was hit immediately and had very little room to run and it was more or less just a dump off pass on a 3rd and very long with 23 yards to go. Polk had two important runs that came back to back on the Cardinals 11 yard line. The first was for 6 yards and the next was for 3 yards and he was stopped just short of the endzone.

2014 Week 9 vs HOU (8 / 50 / 1 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk came into the game to spell McCoy and did the best with his back to back carries taking the first one for a 22 yard gain on a hard run to the right sideline and getting the ball down to the Texans 8 yard line. On the very next play Polk ran hard straight up the middle and pounding the ball into the endzone for a 8 yard touchdown run. Polk had a 4th and 1 that he converted for a first down run deep in Texans territory.

2014 Week 11 vs GB (3 / 0 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk saw 3 carries at the end of the game at the goal line and took the first one straight ahead for 3 yards and then was stuffed on the next two for losses to end the game for the Eagles.

2014 Week 12 vs TEN (7 / 5 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Polk had just one touch in the first half of this game. It was a swing pass into the flat on Third-and-6. Polk was met by a defender in space, but he swerved past him and converted for a first down. Polk came into the game during the second half to help run the clock out when the Eagles had a huge lead. He was consistently hit at or behind the line of scrimmage so couldn't make much of an impression to earn more playing time.

2014 Week 13 vs DAL (11 / 49 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk had a great first touch as he spelled McCoy and came into the game for an 11 yard run as he knocked defenders over as he ran up field. He then carried for a 4 yard and 1 yard carries to end the third quarter. Polk had another couple of carries on the same drive for no gain and then a gain of 6 yards straight up the middle. Polk had another couple of strong 5 yard runs up the middle and showing some strength and patience and that if ever needed to be counted on for an increased roll he could be ready to do so. On the last drive of the game Polk had a 12 yard rush to the left and followed that up with back to back 3 yard gains to help kill the clock and end the game.

2014 Week 15 vs DAL (2 / 6 / 2 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk had a great opportunity as he came into the game on first and goal on the Cowboys 5 yard line and was given the carry and he made the most of it as he followed his offensive lineman's blocks all the way straight forward into the endzone for the touchdown. Chris Polk got another red zone opportunity after the Maclin 72 yard reception and took in a 1 yard run straight forward up the middle on a nice power run.

2014 Week 17 vs NYG (7 / 38 / 1 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Chris Polk didn't have many carries in this game and no receptions but managed a decent stat line regardless. Polk was explosive at times in the running game, finding holes to exploit in the Giants front. Polk had a very easy touchdown run that was well set up by Philadelphia at the one yard line, allowing Polk to simply walk untouched over the goal line. Polk could have scored against on a swing pass to the outside but the pass from Sanchez was not accurate enough. Polk also almost converted a third and very long on the ground as the Giants were caught off guard but fell just one yard shy.

2013 Week 4 vs DEN (3 / 33 / 1 rush, 2 / 2 / 19 / 0 rec)

Polk took his redzone carry into the endzone on a 4 yard carry, finding the hole and lowering his head and making sure the ball broke the barrier. He made the best of his 5 touches today running strong and taking what was given to him. On his 28 yard run in garbage time he ran over a defender and took the ball downfield for a nice 28 yard gain. He showed glimpses that he could be a back that could see a heavy workload in the future.

2013 Week 5 vs NYG (2 / 3 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Made a nice 6 yard catch as part of the end of the half FG drive from the Eagles. He also had 5 carries on the ground with no room to run as the Giants shut down the Eagles RBs today on the ground.

2013 Week 14 vs DET (4 / 50 / 1 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Polk came in to spell McCoy and had back to back rushing opportunities showing some good vision and helped move the ball down the field. Chris Polk had a very LeSean McCoy type of run as he followed the strong blocking of the Eagles offensive line for a 38 yard touchdown run right up the middle.

2013 Week 15 vs MIN (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

The Eagles game was very quiet today as only McCoy and Foles picked up rushing yards. Polk did have one screen pass thrown his way in the first quarter and the ball hit him right in the hands and he dropped it as he was already looking up field to make his next move.

2013 Week 16 vs CHI (2 / 12 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Polk's first action of the game was on a catch that that he raced down field for 8 yards. On the same drive he had his first run and could only find 2 yards on the play. In the fourth quarter the Eagles were pounding the ball on the ground with all three backs and Polk was the lucky recipient to get the last touch on a 10 yard run that he bounced of tackles and took the ball into the endzone for the touchdown.
