Think of the rookie Pittman as a similar talent to Mike Williams, the big-play possession receiver that new Colts starter Philip Rivers has worked with for the past two years. Look for Pittman to earn significant playing time, if not the starting job in 2020. - Matt Waldman

Summary

The Colts drafted Michael Pittman Jr with the 34th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is expected to fill a role opposite T.Y. Hilton and be a key piece in the team's offense in 2020 and beyond. Hilton, at age 31, will be a free agent after this season and may not be re-signed by the Colts. Pittman brings a combination of size, speed, and elusiveness to the next level. At 6'4, 223 pounds, Pittman has adequate size to make contested catches and he has 4.52 speed to get down field, as well as evade tacklers after the catch. If Hilton goes elsewhere for the 2021 season, Pittman has the frame and ability to become the team's top receiving threat. It is expected that he will be involved in the offense from day one and could turn into a fantasy relevant option as a result. (July 28)
