Summary

Yannick Ngakoue is in the last year of his contract and no extension has been reached at this time. After a brief holdout, he reported to training camp. He will have the added pressure of having Josh Allen waiting in the wings, whom the team drafted in the first round, perhaps not believing they will be able to afford what Ngakoue will command in free agency. Ngakoue strangely did not have a forced fumble for the first time in his career last year, but did put up nine and half sacks. He will not do much in the way of tackles for your fantasy team, but should come close once again to putting up double digit sacks opposite the formidable Calais Campbell. (August 11)

Jaguars | Yannick Ngakoue ends holdout (Sun Aug 4, 10:25 AM) - Jacksonville Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue ended his holdout by reporting to training camp Sunday, Aug. 4, despite not receiving a new deal. He is slated to earn slightly more than $2 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Head coach Doug Marrone said Ngakoue was in 'great shape' and won't need to be eased into the mix after missing time at the beginning of camp.

Our View: The Jaguars are poisoning the well with the core of their defense. Ngakoue is now likely to leave next year unless Jacksonville grossly overpays him, and the same goes for Jalen Ramsey in two years.
