Recent Game Summaries
2018 Week 13 vs ATL (3 / 13 / 0 rush, 7 / 5 / 42 / 0 rec - 8 points, $5100)
Ty Montgomery has taken over the pass catching duties in the Ravens backfield. Montgomery lined up at wide receiver on a number of plays and was used on option plays with Lamar Jackson. Montgomery made his first catch on a delayed screen pass but found only 2 yards. Montgomery made a catch running a crossing pattern after lining up at wide receiver for 6 yards. On 3rd and 1 Montgomery caught a check down from Jackson for a 10 yard gain. Montgomery picked up 14 yards on a screen pass showing good patience waiting for his blockers before exploding. Montgomery made an 8 yard catch on 3rd and 7 running the same crossing pattern as he did earlier.
2018 Week 12 vs OAK (8 / 51 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 13 / 0 rec - 7.9 points, $4600)
Ty Montgomery had supplanted Buck Allen as the Raven number 2 back. Montgomery made his first catch in the flat for a gain of 6. Montgomery took a read option hand off around the edge for a 15 yard gain. Montgomery picked up 6 more yards on a check down from Jackson. Montgomery spun for an impressive 6 yard gain on 3rd and 5 showing the ability to run through tackles. Montgomery got 4 carries with the Ravens' running their 4 minute offense and totaled 24 yards to help seal the game.
2018 Week 6 vs SF (4 / 12 / 1 rush, 3 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec - 9.2 points, $5000)
Ty Montgomery rushed four times for 12 yards and a touchdown, while also catching two passes for 10 yards on three targets. Montgomery capped off the Packers opening drive with a rushing touchdown where Rodgers lateraled the ball to him in the flat and he was able to get to the corner of the end zone. Montgomery has been used sparingly with both Williams and Jones healthy and has not had the role in the passing game that many thought he would coming into the season. At this point, he is nothing more than a role player who sees six to eight touches per week combined in the running and passing game.
2018 Week 5 vs DET (4 / 15 / 0 rush, 3 / 1 / 23 / 0 rec - 4.3 points, $5500)
Montgomery only saw limited duty even though the Packers were down two wide receivers. He didn't line up often outside of the backfield and made minimal contributions.
2018 Week 3 vs WAS (4 / 16 / 0 rush, 7 / 6 / 48 / 0 rec - 9.4 points, $5100)
Ty Montgomery rushed four times for 16 yards, while also catching six passes for 48 yards. He was more involved as a receiver when the Packers were in catchup mode, but played a small role in the first half.
Latest NewsJets | Elijah McGuire bumped down the charts? (Thu Apr 11, 10:46 PM) - New York Jets RB Elijah McGuire will likely be the third-string running back following the signing of RB Ty Montgomery, according to Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record. Our View: Yeah, it's a weird signing for the Jets as they already have McGuire (and Trenton Cannon) on the roster. The starter is Le'Veon Bell, and he's a great three-down back. When he needs a breather, Montgomery might be that next back up.
link to story Jets | Ty Montgomery joining Jets (Thu Apr 11, 05:27 PM) - Free-agent RB Ty Montgomery (Ravens) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New York Jets Thursday, April 11, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed. Our View: Montgomery is going to serve as the primary change-of-pace back behind starter Le'Veon Bell. It's an interesting signing for the Jets since they already have Eli McGuire and Trenton Cannon in the backfield. We'll see those three compete for playing time and to establish a pecking order behind Bell for the 2019 season.
link to story Dolphins | Ty Montgomery to visit Miami (Thu Apr 11, 12:54 PM) - Free-agent RB Ty Montgomery (Ravens) will visit the Miami Dolphins on Friday, April 12. Our View: Montgomery is visiting with a couple of AFC East teams, the Jets and the Dolphins just to see if he can get some work. He is a pass-catching back who can play some slot receiver too plus return kicks. Montgomery would be an odd fit with the Jets who already have Eli McGuire and Trenton Cannon as receiving backs or change-of-pace backs behind starter LeVeon Bell.
