Game Recaps

2011 Week 3 vs SF (1 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)

Lee was not targeted often, but on the opening drive made a quick red zone catch at the 5, took a big hit and, impressively, held on to the ball.

2011 Week 8 vs SEA (3 / 3 / 44 / 0 rec)

With Jermaine Gresham out, former Packer Donald Lee got the start but was rarely used. He did have a nice 14 yard catch just prior to AJ Green's 43 yard touchdown.

2011 Week 9 vs TEN (4 / 3 / 49 / 0 rec)

Lee caught a screen pass and did a masterful job of following his blockers and changing directions on his way to a 22 yard gain. He also made a good catch in tight coverage to get the Bengals into the red zone on their first touchdown drive.

2010 Week 4 vs DET (1 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Lee only had one catch for 15 yards on the final drive of the game. It was after a fake run where Rodgers rolled out the other way and hit Lee down the middle of the field for a big 15 yard gain.

2010 Week 5 vs WAS (2 / 2 / 22 / 1 rec)

Lee opened the game with a nice 17 yard reception where he took off up the middle of the field and broke to the to the outside and Rodgers put the ball into him perfectly. Lee turned up field, but had the ball stripped from behind as he was tackled and Washington recovered. His only other target was on the following series when the Packers were on the five yard line. Lee ran a simple stick route where he ran straight to the end zone, turned around and caught the TD pass. He appeared to be OK and even celebrated the TD catch, but was taken to the locker room shortly after the play and was out for the rest of the game. The injury was later identified as a chest sprain and Lee will miss the next few weeks.

2010 Week 7 vs MIN (2 / 2 / 27 / 0 rec)

Lee ended the game with only 2 receptions and wasn't utilized in the red zone at all. Instead, it was the rookie, TE Andrew Quarles who was the recipient of the Aaron Rodgers TD in the red zone, a big disappointment to those who were hoping that Lee would replace the often used, Jermichael Finley in this offense.

2010 Week 8 vs NYJ (2 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Lee was held to one catch for five yards on the day.

2009 Week 1 vs CHI (3 / 3 / 8 / 0 rec)

Donald Lee was not a big part of the passing game for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Week 1. He stayed in to block a bit more often than fantasy leaguers would normally like and the younger and talented Jermichael Finley will pressure Lee for targets and snaps all season. Lee did win the catch battle with Finley three to one, but neither posted any true fantasy value.

2009 Week 2 vs CIN (6 / 4 / 28 / 0 rec)

With the Bengal pass rush keeping Aaron Rodgers from focusing on longer routes, Lee was a frequent checkdown target. His catches weren't in high leverage situations, but Lee will continue to be a useful, though inconsistent, outlet receiver for the Packers.

2009 Week 3 vs STL (4 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Lee provided a nice short target and red zone option for the Packers. He was targeted twice on the red zone, and also showed soft hands with a very nice fingertips catch early on.

2009 Week 4 vs MIN (5 / 4 / 28 / 0 rec)

Donald Lee probably lost his #1 TE position to Jermichael Finley in this game. Although he had a nice catch and run early in the first quarter on second and long to keep the Packers moving, it was his TD drop that most will remember. After being stuffed twice on the one yard line, down by 14 late in the third quarter, the Packers went for it on 4th and goal from the one. Rodgers scrambled and saw that Lee had broken away from a LB and signaled that he was open. Rodgers threw a low, but very catchable ball that hit Lee in the hands. He bobbled it and it dropped, killing a 14 play, 82 yard drive that took up over eight minutes. That was a moral crusher for the Packers and they came close but never really threatened Minnesota the rest of the game.

2009 Week 6 vs DET (4 / 3 / 39 / 0 rec)

Despite the emergence of Finley in the Packers passing attack Lee remains a solid option for Rodgers to throw to. In week 6 Lee was targeted a few times early in the game and made the most of his chances. Lee finished the game with 3 catches and is starting to slide into Green Bay's #2 TE option.

2009 Week 7 vs CLE (5 / 3 / 39 / 0 rec)

Lee saw the bulk of the underneath targets after Jermichael Finley's first quarter knee injury. He dropped one pass but was generally effective over the middle, finding soft spots between the Cleveland linebackers in zone coverage.

2009 Week 8 vs MIN (6 / 3 / 17 / 0 rec)

Lee wasn't targeted much except on short routes. Spencer Havner got the red zone love, so it was a disappointing game for Lee against one of the worst defenses against tight ends.

2009 Week 9 vs TB (2 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Lee got one very short catch, but overall he was not used much in the gameplan vs. the Bucs.

2009 Week 10 vs DAL (2 / 2 / 21 / 0 rec)

Lee made a couple of plays in week 10, catching both of his targets. Lee made a great 3rd down reception when called upon in a pressure situation.

2009 Week 12 vs DET (5 / 4 / 22 / 1 rec)

With Finley getting more and more targets in the GB offense, former started Donald Lee has been relegated to more blocking assignments. Despite that, Lee was a little more involved this week catching a season high 4 passes and getting his TD catch of the season as well. The TD came from a short screen route and nice dive into the end zone.

2009 Week 14 vs CHI (2 / 2 / 16 / 0 rec)

Lee continues to get targets, including in the red zone, but he doesn't have the athleticism to do much with them after the catch. It's hard to understand why the Packers would run plays for Lee that they could run for Jermichael Finley.

2009 Week 17 vs ARI (2 / 2 / 13 / 0 rec)

Lee caught 2 passes for 13 yards but is now an afterthought after the emergence of stud TE, Jermichael Finley. Lee, a talented pass catcher in his own right, won't see many opportunities barring an injury to the surging Finley.

2008 Week 1 vs MIN (3 / 3 / 10 / 0 rec)

Lee was the target for QB Aaron Rodgers on his first two throws as a starter - both were caught for short gains. In the second quarter, on second and goal, Rodgers overthrew Lee who was wide open in the end zone. However, that play had been whistled dead due to a penalty.

2008 Week 2 vs DET (3 / 2 / 27 / 0 rec)

While Lee only saw three targets on the day, and all of them came in the first half, he was regularly sent on deep routes that sought to take advantage of his size and speed against undersized defenders. Two of his targets were on just these deep routes, and he managed to haul in one of them for 26 of his receiving yards.

2008 Week 3 vs DAL (5 / 5 / 41 / 0 rec)

TE Donald Lee had a solid game receiving for the Packers but was not able to get into the end zone. Three of his receptions came in the final quarter as Green Bay was attempting to mount a large comeback.

2008 Week 4 vs TB (3 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)

Lee's only catch of the day came near the end of the first quarter on Green Bay's third series.

2008 Week 5 vs ATL (4 / 4 / 25 / 1 rec)

Lee averaged less than seven yards per reception, but he was the receiver on Green Bay's third touchdown on the game. On the play, the tight end lined up in the backfield and took an underhand pass from QB Aaron Rodgers up the middle for a four yard score.

2008 Week 6 vs SEA (2 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec)

Donald Lee had a couple short passes but was not targeted downfield or in the seam all game.

2008 Week 7 vs IND (3 / 2 / 23 / 1 rec)

TE Donald Lee only caught two passes in the win but one was a twelve yard pass from QB Aaron Rodgers just over the goal line for a score.

2008 Week 9 vs TEN (3 / 3 / 22 / 0 rec)

Lee caught all three passes thrown his way, but was generally the third or fourth look for Rodgers, who did not often have time to get that before being pressured to throw.

2008 Week 10 vs MIN (2 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)

If Aaron Rodgers had more time he could have thrown the ball to Donald Lee. However, Rodgers didn't even have time to dump the ball most of the day.

2008 Week 11 vs CHI (7 / 6 / 33 / 1 rec)

Late in the third quarter, Lee found himself wide open in the end zone and caught a five yard pass from Rodgers for the touchdown. Lee also caught five of his other six targets, racking up an additional 28 yards in the process. He finished the afternoon with 33 yards and a touchdown.

2008 Week 12 vs NO (2 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

TE Donald Lee only managed one catch in the loss. Even after the team fell behind big, he was not targeted regularly by QB Aaron Rodgers.

2008 Week 13 vs CAR (5 / 4 / 37 / 1 rec)

Donald Lee was very active receiving the ball and throwing some key blocks. The touchdown reception was a very nice fade that Lee setup by selling a block very well.

2008 Week 14 vs HOU (3 / 3 / 48 / 1 rec)

Lee's 20 yard catch was Green Bay's first touchdown. He also had a 25 yard gain.

2008 Week 15 vs JAX (3 / 2 / 8 / 0 rec)

Lee had a small role in the passing game, and one of his two targets, while in the red zone, was a dump off pass as a result of a broken play.

2008 Week 16 vs CHI (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Lee did not have a target in this game.

2007 Week 1 vs PHI (4 / 4 / 27 / 0 rec)

Lee caught all four balls thrown his way. It is possible that he saw more playing time in the second half due to Bubba Franks dropping two passes during the game. All of his catches were for short gains, gaining nine on his longest catch.

2007 Week 2 vs NYG (6 / 4 / 35 / 1 rec)

Lee got involved on the first Packers series of the game, catching two passes for 18 yards. Though targeted two times in the second quarter, he did not catch his next pass until he snagged a 14 yard reception with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter. Lee followed that up later in the game by scoring the Packers' third touchdown of the game on a three yard pass from Favre.

2007 Week 3 vs SD (6 / 4 / 44 / 0 rec)

For the third game in a row, Lee caught four passes. While it's not fair to automatically extrapolate that out over a 16 game schedule, the fact remains that Lee is currently on pace for 64 receptions this year. That would've been good for sixth-most amongst all tight ends a year ago, so it is very clear that Favre is looking for him regularly. He nearly scored for the second week in a row, but was down several inches short of the goal line. He came about as close as a player can come to scoring without actually getting in when his elbow touched down with the ball just shy of the white line late in the fourth quarter.

2007 Week 4 vs MIN (5 / 4 / 66 / 0 rec)

Lee was Favre's most consistent deep threat for the game. Lee caught passes of 27, 27, ten, and two yards. However, he did fumble after his second 27 yard reception.

2007 Week 5 vs CHI (4 / 3 / 23 / 0 rec)

Lee was the slightly more productive of the two Packers' tight ends in this game, out gaining Franks by five yards with the same number of receptions.

2007 Week 6 vs WAS (4 / 3 / 75 / 0 rec)

Lee had the big play of the game for the Green Bay offense making a 60 yard catch and run on the Packers' first play of their second series. On the play, Lee made the catch, bounced off an attempted tackle by CB Carlos Rogers, and raced to the Washington three yard line. The play led to Green Bay's only touchdown on offense. Lee would go on to catch two more passes including a 14 yard reception that led to a Packers field goal.

2007 Week 8 vs DEN (3 / 3 / 34 / 0 rec)

All three of Lee's catches came on the Packers' third series and all of them went for first downs.

2007 Week 9 vs KC (5 / 4 / 78 / 0 rec)

During the early part of the game when the Packers were trying to establish their game plan, Lee was the primary target. Lee was the target of three of the first five passes thrown by Favre, and was wide open on all of his targets in the first half. As the game went on, and Green Bay fell behind, Lee saw his role change as Favre began to involve his receivers into the offense.

2007 Week 10 vs MIN (5 / 4 / 27 / 1 rec)

Lee had a nice game in his first appearance since signing a nice contract extension. Most of his looks were his traditional quick slant from his tight end position. His touchdown came on a goal line play, with play action and he simply released into the back of the end zone and Favre easily hit him for the touchdown.

2007 Week 11 vs CAR (5 / 5 / 49 / 2 rec)

Donald Lee made the most of his targets. He was thrown to five times and caught all of the passes for 49 yards with two touchdowns. He scored on passes of 12 and 26 yards. Lee picked up three first downs with two of those coming on his touchdowns. He did not see any other catches inside the red zone.

2007 Week 12 vs DET (1 / 1 / 10 / 0 rec)

Lee was unusually quiet, with just one ball thrown his way all game. It wasn't anything he did wrong; just that the Green Bay receivers were having so much success on the outside and down the seam that it made sense to utilize Lee in the pocket to give Favre extra protection against a solid Detroit pass rush. That game plan worked like a charm, as Favre threw 41 passes yet wasn't sacked even once. Lee almost scored at the end of the first half when he caught a short pass from Favre and was taken down at the Lions two yard line but could get no further. Green Bay settled for a field goal on the drive.

2007 Week 13 vs DAL (4 / 3 / 30 / 0 rec)

Lee only had one catch for three yards in the first half. He caught a big pass over the middle for 22 yards to put the ball deep in Dallas territory. He would add one more pass for five yards late in the game.

2007 Week 14 vs OAK (5 / 4 / 71 / 1 rec)

After a first half that saw Lee grab three balls for 25 yards, he hauled in his only second half target for 46 yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. After making the catch on the short pass, Lee broke a tackle and fought off a defender on his way to the end zone.

2007 Week 15 vs STL (2 / 1 / 4 / 1 rec)

Lee's only catch of the game went for a four yard touchdown. The scoring catch was his fifth in the last six games. Despite going without a catch for the remainder of the game, he did draw a pass interference penalty that extended a Green Bay drive after a third down pass fell incomplete.

2007 Week 16 vs CHI (4 / 1 / 2 / 0 rec)

Lee was targeted a number of times, but managed to haul in just one two yard reception.

2007 Week 19 vs SEA (2 / 2 / 16 / 0 rec)

Donald Lee caught two passes for 16 yards on three targets. The Packers had a lot of success on the ground with Ryan Grant, so Lee mainly stayed in the pocket to block for the running game.

2007 Week 20 vs NYG (0 / 3 / 35 / 1 rec)

Lee caught three passes for 35 yards on four targets. With Brett Favre struggling to get the ball to Greg Jennings and James Jones, Lee was able to provide a couple of nice plays in the game. The first came on an 18 yard reception over the middle in the second quarter. The second came in the third quarter, when Favre found him open at the back of the endzone for a 12 yard touchdown.

2006 Week 1 vs CHI (1 / 1 / 25 / 0 rec)

Lee only caught one pass, a 25 yard strike down the middle in the second quarter.

2006 Week 3 vs DET (1 / 1 / 32 / 0 rec)

Lee caught his only target for a 32 yard gain and a first down in the fourth quarter.

2006 Week 8 vs ARI (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Lee played in the three TE sets, and was targeted only once in the game.

2006 Week 9 vs BUF (1 / 1 / -5 / 0 rec)

Lee is the fastest of the TEs but he is not utilized as much by head coach Mike McCarthy as he was by the previous regime. Lee plays on special teams and probably won't see the field much unless Martin or Franks are injured.

2006 Week 11 vs NE (1 / 1 / 16 / 0 rec)

Lee caught the only pass thrown to him for 16 yards in the third quarter.

2006 Week 15 vs DET (3 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Lee caught one pass for 15 yards, but dropped two passes, including a pass in the end zone which was perfectly thrown.

2006 Week 17 vs CHI (4 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Lee caught one pass for 15 yards which helped put Green Bay within field goal range. Rayner kicked his 46 yards field goal four plays later.

2005 Week 3 vs TB (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Lee's only contribution to the game was being called on a false start penalty.

2005 Week 4 vs CAR (1 / 1 / 16 / 1 rec)

Lee made his only reception of the game count, hauling in a 16 yard touchdown.

2005 Week 5 vs NO (1 / 1 / 26 / 1 rec)

Lee caught just one pass in the game a 26 yard touchdown which he ran past his defender and the safety did not come over to help leaving him wide open for the score. The touchdown catch was Lee's second in two weeks on just two receptions for the season.

2005 Week 7 vs MIN (3 / 3 / 21 / 0 rec)

After scoring a touchdown in each of his two games with the Packers, Lee was kept out of the end zone this week. Lee caught two passes on the Packers' opening possession and was pretty silent the remainder of the game. He finished with three catches for 21 yards.

2005 Week 8 vs CIN (4 / 3 / 28 / 0 rec)

Lee saw an increase in targets with the injuries to Packers' wide receivers. The Packers played in two tight ends sets for a majority of the game instead of moving to three wide receiver sets.

2005 Week 9 vs PIT (7 / 3 / 21 / 0 rec)

With David Martin injured, Lee had three receptions for the third consecutive week.

2005 Week 10 vs ATL (5 / 3 / 31 / 0 rec)

With David Martin inactive this week, Lee moved up to backup tight end. He contributed with three receptions for 31 yards. After a nice 16 yard gain, Lee was the recipient of a late hit out of bounds that tacked on another 15 yards. He had one end zone target but was overthrown.

2005 Week 11 vs MIN (5 / 4 / 37 / 0 rec)

Lee was targeted heavily in two different stretches. He finished as Favre's second favorite option.

2005 Week 12 vs PHI (4 / 2 / 21 / 0 rec)

Lee had two catches in the game for 21 yards. He was targeted in the end zone on an out and up, but the ball was badly underthrown by Favre and intercepted by the Eagles.

2005 Week 13 vs CHI (7 / 3 / 37 / 0 rec)

Lee saw an increase in production with the injury to starter Bubba Franks. He caught three passes for 37 yards on seven targets. He was targeted twice in the red zone. One was completed to the ten yard line and the other was incomplete in the end zone.

2005 Week 14 vs DET (3 / 3 / 20 / 0 rec)

Lee was only targeted three times but caught all three passes for 20 yard and was not much of a factor beyond those numbers.

2005 Week 15 vs BAL (2 / 2 / 16 / 0 rec)

Lee converted both of his targets (from Favre) into completions.

2005 Week 16 vs CHI (7 / 3 / 10 / 0 rec)

Lee was targeted often as Favre was trying to get rid of the ball against the Bears pass rush, but added just ten yards on the afternoon.

2005 Week 17 vs SEA (6 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Lee saw lots more action than his stat line would suggest. He was targeted in the end zone twice during the second half.
