2017 Week 3 vs GB (4 / 3 / 28 / 0 rec)
With Tyler Eifert out and fellow backup C.J. Uzomah on injured reserved, Kroft was on the field for all but one snap. Kroft caught Dalton's first pass of the game for 14 yards on a crossing route. He showed a nice burst turning upfield and accelerating for a few extra yards before getting his legs taken out. Kroft again converted a target down the right sideline for a 10-yard gain on the second drive of the game. After the fast start, Kroft wasn't involved much as a receiver the rest of the game.
2017 Week 4 vs CLE (7 / 6 / 68 / 2 rec)
With Tyler Eifert again sidelined by a bad back, Kroft had a career game. Kroft is mostly used as a blocker but generated some buzz throughout the offseason with his improvement as a pass-catcher. It was on full display against the Browns. Kroft slid low to corral a key third-down pass on the Bengals first scoring drive. The next drive, Kroft caught a 22-yard pass on 3rd-and-16 to keep the chains moving. Kroft finished off the drive with a 3-yard touchdown. He lined up in the slot faked the linebacker inside and then quickly cut outside to make himself available for the quick strike from Dalton. Kroft caught back-to-back 11-yard passes in the two-minute offense before halftime. Kroft's second touchdown came from 17 yards out. The Bengals ran a play fake that caused the middle linebacker to bite and allow Kroft behind him. Kroft went up to grab the pass down the seam and held on despite a hit from the closing safety.
2017 Week 5 vs BUF (5 / 4 / 38 / 0 rec)
Kroft had another strong game in relief of Tyler Eifert. He is a solid blocker and has made major progress as a receiver this season. Kroft was Dalton's go-to target on a late field goal drive. He had grabs of 11 and 15 yards over the middle and continues to gain Dalton's trust. Kroft should be a viable streaming tight end option while Eifert is out for fantasy teams hit with injuries at the position.
2017 Week 7 vs PIT (4 / 4 / 23 / 1 rec)
Kroft caught a 1-yard touchdown. He was uncovered after the Steelers bit hard on a play-action fake. He also made some tough catches over the middle of the field and tied for the team lead in receptions. Kroft is quietly growing into one of Dalton's most trusted weapons in the passing game.
2017 Week 8 vs IND (6 / 5 / 46 / 0 rec)
For the third-straight week, Kroft played over 90% of the snaps and was one of Dalton's go-to weapons in the passing game. Kroft is getting open over the middle of the field and has shown fantastic hands. He has now caught 85% of his targets this season and should remain one of the key cogs of the Bengals offense moving forward.
2017 Week 9 vs JAX (2 / 2 / 79 / 0 rec)
Exactly half of the Bengals offensive yardage on the day came on Kroft's two catches. He got open over the middle and then sprinted down the sideline for a 59-yard catch that setup Cincinnati's only score of the game. He showed surprising wheels on the play and continues to make a strong case for the starting job in Cincinnati over the long-term.
2017 Week 10 vs TEN (6 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)
Kroft had a tough day. He wasn't able to get any separation against the Titans and was held to just one catch.
2017 Week 11 vs DEN (3 / 2 / 12 / 1 rec)
The Bengals went to a goal line formation on 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line and ran a play-action fake to Joe Mixon running right. The Broncos bit, Kroft slipped out on the backside, and was wide open for an easy touchdown catch. Kroft injured his right hand and left the game temporarily. He returned later with a cast on and had a drop. His status for next week may be in question for a prime matchup with the Browns.
2017 Week 12 vs CLE (4 / 3 / 14 / 1 rec)
After missing much of last week's game with a right hand injury, Kroft was back in the lineup playing with extra padding and a wrap on his hand. While he wasn't targeted heavily, he had a couple opportunities down around the goal line. When the Bengals get into their goal line package, Kroft is the preferred option off of play action. He scored a 1-yard touchdown off of play action for the second week in the row, slipping out into the flat for the easy catch. Kroft was also targeted in the end zone on 3rd-and-goal from the 3-yard line but it looked like Joe Mixon ran the wrong route, ended up cutting right in front of Kroft and knocked the ball out of the air.
2017 Week 13 vs PIT (2 / 2 / 30 / 0 rec)
Kroft made a pair of tough catches down the seam for gains of 11 and 19 yards. Dalton was able to fit the ball into tight windows of the Pittsburgh zone and Kroft held on despite taking big hits on both plays.
2017 Week 15 vs MIN (4 / 2 / 1 / 0 rec)
Kroft had a bad concentration drop on what should have been a 15-yard gain.
2017 Week 16 vs DET (5 / 1 / 3 / 0 rec)
Dalton missed Kroft twice on an early drive. Both throws sailed high. The first would have gone for a long gain and the second miss was over Kroft's head in the end zone on what could have been a 13-yard touchdown. Kroft had a bad drop on a short pass underneath.
2017 Week 17 vs BAL (8 / 6 / 53 / 2 rec)
Scored a 1-yard touchdown off of play action. Dalton threw it high over the arms of the linebacker and Kroft went up and got it. Kroft flashed some surprising run after the catch ability, jump-cutting past a would-be tackler to turn a short pass into a 20-yard gain. A few plays later, Kroft grabbed a 5-yard touchdown catch. He lined up outside, got an inside release and took advantage of a broken coverage to come wide open in the middle of the end zone for an easy pitch and catch touchdown.
2016 Week 2 vs PIT (4 / 3 / 35 / 0 rec)
In his first significant action since early in training camp, Kroft was lightly involved. He made a nice catch along the sideline. But he also had a key drop on the final drive of the game as the wet ball slipped through his hands when he was wide open for what would have been a nice gain.
2015 Week 13 vs CLE (1 / 1 / 17 / 0 rec)
Tyler Kroft started at tight end for the Bengals with Tyler Eifert nursing a neck injury. Kroft was primarily used as a blocking weapon in this one but was a big part of Jeremy Hill's huge game. He caught his only target of the game for 17 yards.
2015 Week 15 vs SF (3 / 3 / 31 / 1 rec)
Normally a blocking tight end, Tyler Kroft was able to catch his first career touchdown in Week 15 against the 49ers. With Tyler Eifert out of this one with a neck injury, Kroft caught all three of his targets for 31 yards and the aforementioned touchdown. It came in the red zone with a nicely thrown ball by McCarron in tight coverage. In a game where the Bengals didn't need much offense to win the game plan was clearly ball control from McCarron and to not take many chances downfield. Even with a struggling running game there were only 21 pass attempts in the entire game.
