Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 18 vs HOU (2 / 1 / 14 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox's only reception against the Texans was a third down target that he was able to turn upfield and break a tackle for a conversion. Knox showed good signs of progress as a rookie and will have an opportunity to take a step forward next season.

2019 Week 16 vs NE (4 / 1 / 33 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a highlight 33-yard catch that was held just short of the end zone after initially being ruled a touchdown. Knox had two other opportunities for touchdowns but was overthrown on both targets in the end zone. He also dropped a ball in the flat. Knox has shown flashes this season and could benefit from another year of development and improved accuracy from Josh Allen.

2019 Week 15 vs PIT (1 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a quiet game. He caught a ball in traffic on the first series of the game but was not targeted again. He will face the Patriots next week.

2019 Week 14 vs BAL (4 / 1 / 37 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a down game against the Ravens. Knox had a highlight contested catch down the perimeter for 37 yards but was otherwise held without a catch. Knox got open deep on the perimeter on another occasion, but Josh Allen overthrew him. He also drew an end zone target that was broken up and had a drop on a third down. Knox will look to have a better game against the Steelers next week.

2019 Week 13 vs DAL (4 / 3 / 17 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a quiet statistical day with only three short receptions for 17 yards, but his usage was notable. Knox was twice split out on the outside and thrown balls deep on the perimeter. He dropped the first one along the sideline but drew a defensive pass interference penalty on the second deep target. Knox adds a big body and physical element to passing game which has gradually been more incorporated as his season has progressed. He faces a tough Baltimore defense on Sunday.

2019 Week 12 vs DEN (2 / 2 / 11 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had two short receptions against the Broncos on Sunday. He is Buffalo's biggest receiving option and is strong after the catch, but was only targeted twice as the Bills only threw 25 times. He will get a matchup against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

2019 Week 11 vs MIA (3 / 2 / 32 / 1 rec)

Dawson Knox had a touchdown against the Dolphins on Sunday. He was targeted over the middle in man coverage in the red zone and able to beat a safety with an athletic run after the catch for the score. He also had a quick flat route that he turned upfield for a run after the catch, while adding a drop. Knox is a big-bodied target in the offense with good athleticism and has shown the ability to make plays after the catch this season. He will face the Dolphins next week at home.

2019 Week 10 vs CLE (6 / 4 / 55 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a good game against the Browns in a loss on Sunday. Knox was split out regularly in the formation as a pass receiver during the game with Lee Smith serving as the primary blocking tight end. Knox had a strong reception on a play action crossing route and had two opportunities for a bigger game. The first was a back shoulder throw that was too wide along the sideline and the second a target in the end zone that was broken up. Knox adds a physical and athletic element to the offense that Buffalo does not have a receiver and should continue to see occasional if unpredictable weeks where he gets six targets like he did this week. He will face the Dolphins next week.

2019 Week 5 vs TEN (5 / 2 / 12 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox had a down game against the Titans on Sunday. He had two short catches but dropped two third down targets. He will look to bounce back after a bye in week seven against the Dolphins.

2019 Week 4 vs NE (3 / 3 / 58 / 0 rec)

Dawson Knox continued his strong play against the New England Patriots in week four. Knox made a strong catch along the sideline and added two other catches that had strong run after the catch efforts. Knox will face a tough Tennessee defense next week.

2019 Week 3 vs CIN (4 / 3 / 67 / 1 rec, 1 / 9 / 0 rush)

Dawson Knox had the best game of his young career against the Bengals. The breakout game included his first career touchdown on a goal-line play-action pass into the flat. Knox also had a highlight run after the catch where he broke multiple tackles to set the Bills up for their game-winning touchdown. Knox is consistently physical with the ball in his hands and adds an additional element to the Buffalo offense that has had limited tight end production in the first two weeks of the season. He will look to continue his strong play next week against the Patriots.
