2019 Week 1 vs SF (13 / 75 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 18 / 0 rec)
Jones entered the game in relief of starter Barber later in the first quarter. His first run was a hard charge up the middle of the defense for 10 yards. He converted 3rd and 17 with hard running after catching a swing pass out of the backfield in the 2nd quarter. Three receivers lined up on the left side of the formation and faked deep routes before blocking for Jones, who broke a couple of tackles and tip toed his way up the sideline for the conversion. Jones didn't really get rolling on the ground until the 3rd quarter, carrying the ball with authority between the tackles and picking up several first downs on the ground. He dodged a tackle in the backfield with a wicked stutter-step on one particularly nifty play. Jones was pretty much featured from that point on, logging several impressive carries in the 4th quarter, all between the tackles as he out-carried Barber 13-8 on the day and appeared to run with a little more juice in his legs.
2019 Week 2 vs CAR (4 / 9 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
It was a slow day for any Tampa Bay halfbacks not named Peyton Barber. Jones had an impressive 12 yard carry off right tackle in the 3rd quarter, breaking several tackles and moving the pile for a first down, but he lost yards with his few other carries. Jones was not targeted in the passing game.
2019 Week 3 vs NYG (14 / 80 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 41 / 0 rec)
Barber was the first back to see the field, but Jones got involved in the action early in the 1st quarter, outperforming Barber handily by the end of the game. Jones' only target of the day was a perfectly executed halfback screen that he broke down the left sideline for a gain of 41 yards late in the 1st quarter. Jones continued running strong in the second half, ripping off his longest run of the day(25 yards) in the 4th quarter.
2019 Week 4 vs LAR (19 / 70 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 12 / 0 rec)
Barber scored on a short run on the opening drive, but the backfield was all Jones after that, save for a few carries by Barber and a few targets for Ogunbowale. Jones exploded up the middle for a 25 yard gain in the 2nd quarter, showing off a nifty spin move, but the play was called back for an illegal shift penalty. He scored from a few yards out at the end of the 2nd quarter, carrying off right tackle. Jones was featured heavily in the 2nd half. He had another big run down called back for a holding penalty in the 3rd quarter. Jones caught a short out route in the 3rd quarter to pick up a 3rd down conversion. Jones appears to be pulling ahead of Barber for backfield duties with Ogunbowale still working in some situations like the two minute drill.
2019 Week 5 vs NO (9 / 35 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 21 / 0 rec)
Barber got the start, but Jones mixed in evenly and finished the day with more touches and yards, though Barber scored the only rushing touchdown of the day. Jones' longest run of the day was a 14 yard carry off right tackle in the 2nd quarter. Jones caught a well-timed halfback screen for a gain of 10 and a swing route for another first down pickup in the 2nd quarter.
2019 Week 6 vs CAR (4 / 10 / 1 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Jones was still behind Barber for carries and Ogunbowale for targets, but he did manage a touchdown this week. He showed off some nifty moves between the tackles on his scoring run, as he sidestepped one tackler before plowing ahead into the end zone in the 2nd quarter. The offensive game plan featured Ogunbowale heavily after the Buc fell behind early. Jones wasn't targeted in the passing game this week.
2018 Week 4 vs CHI (10 / 29 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / -1 / 0 rec)
Jones entered the game after Peyton Barber and got less snaps, but he did out-touch the starter 11-8. Neither back had much of a chance as the Bucs fell behind immediately and had to try to throw the ball. Jones managed a team high 29 yards rushing. He secured a check down pass out in the 2nd quarter but was tackled behind the line of scrimmage on his only reception of the day.
2018 Week 6 vs ATL (1 / 3 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 16 / 0 rec)
Jones was used sparingly in relief of Barber. He didn't see the field until late in the 2nd quarter. Jones carried the ball once for a short gain, then caught a halfback screen on the next drive that picked up 10 yards. Winston hit him again out of the backfield on the next play for a short gain. Jones caught one more short out route late in the 3rd quarter, but didn't see many snaps behind Barber in the 2nd half.
2018 Week 7 vs CLE (6 / 13 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)
Jones barely saw the field in the first half, working his way sparingly into the rotation in the 2nd quarter. Jones got some extra work in the 2nd half after Peyton Barber left with an undisclosed injury. Jones scored his first NFL touchdown in the 3rd quarter, punching in an easy one from the 2 yard line after OJ Howard went down just shy of the pylon on the previous play. Darby made nice catch in stride on a wheel route out of the backfield, picking up 15 yards on his only target of the day. The Bucs have not revealed any information yet about Barber's injury and whether or not he may miss time.
2018 Week 8 vs CIN (2 / -3 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)
Despite some speculation that he would be handling lead back duties in week 8, Jones started the day as Barber's backup/change of pace. He entered the game in the 2nd quarter, carrying the ball twice and catching one short pass out of the backfield on the drive. Unfortunately, he injured his hamstring and was declared out after halftime. Jacquizz Rodgers operated as Barber's backup for the remainder of the game.
2018 Week 13 vs CAR (4 / 2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Jones returned from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for several weeks. He played sparingly in relief of Peyton Barber. Jones was featured briefly during a 2nd quarter drive, but didn't do much with his 4 carries. He was not targeted in the passing game.
2018 Week 15 vs BAL (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / -1 / 0 rec)
Jones was used sparingly behind Barber. He caught a swing route out of the backfield in the 1st quarter and was hit hard behind the line of scrimmage. Jones also dropped another pass later in the 3rd quarter.
