WR Jesse Holley - Free Agent
|6-2, 205||Born: 1-8-1984||College: North Carolina||Drafted: ---|
2011 Week 2 vs SF (3 / 3 / 96 / 0 rec)
Having never caught a pass as a professional, journeyman Jesse Holley made the most of his opportunity to play. With Dez Bryant, Kevin Ogletree, and Miles Austin all affected by injury to some degree, Holley lined up as Dallas's fourth receiver on a number of snaps during the game. His real contribution came in the fourth quarter and overtime. He was targeted on successive plays by Tony Romo as the Cowboys drove for a game-trying field goal. His best play came on the Cowboys first snap in overtime. On the play, Holley was lined up to the left side of the line. At the snap, the cornerback covering Holley bit on the play action and the safety charged with picking Holley up was slow in coming across the field. Holley caught the pass about ten yards down field and then ran as fast as he could for a 77 yard gain, ultimately getting tackled at the one yard line. The play clinched the win for the Cowboys.
2011 Week 10 vs BUF (1 / 1 / 25 / 0 rec)
Holley saw time as the team's 4th receiver in the game and started off great with a 25-yard catch on the first drive of the game. That was his only target of the game, however, as the Cowboys tried to run out the clock for most of the second half.
2011 Week 13 vs ARI (2 / 2 / 31 / 0 rec)
Holley's prospects for playing time are dim, as long as Miles Austin returns, but he made a couple of good plays against the Cards. He caught both targets, including one over the middle for 18 yards, in which he was absolutely surrounded by red jerseys.
