Week 11: vs Houston Texans

All RB vs HOU

FBG says: Tough matchup. The Ravens rushing offense, led by Lamar Jackson and his 702 rushing yards, continues to put up ridiculous numbers on a weekly basis as they lead the league with 197.2 rushing yards per game--an average of over 35 more rushing yards per game than the next best rushing offense. Jackson put up over 60 rushing yards for the sixth straight game last week despite playing just three-quarters of the game due to the blowout win. He has rushed for at least one touchdown in four straight weeks and is capable of making dazzling plays with the ball in his hands--as displayed by his flashy 47-yard touchdown run last week. Mark Ingram has been no slouch either as he is averaging 5.0 yards per carry with eight rushing touchdowns on the season. His season-low nine carries last week was a bit of an anomaly, as Ingram has seen between 12-19 carries in every game this season while working as the primary goal-line back when Jackson isn't taking it in himself. Gus Edwards has worked in on short-yardage situations from time to time, but has rarely seen more than half the snaps of Ingram and remains a non-factor in this rushing offense. The Ravens offensive line stayed healthy through last week's game despite both Ronnie Stanley and Marshal Yanda missing some practice. Both expect to play again as they compose a top-tier run-blocking unit. Coming out of the Week 10 bye, the Texans run defense looks to continue their hot streak from recent weeks. Since Week 5, the Texans have allowed zero rushing touchdowns to running backs while just one player has exceeded 44 rushing yards against them over that span. Even with the recent loss of J.J. Watt, this defensive line continues to play well against the run with big-bodied nose tackle D.J. Reader absolutely dominating at the line of scrimmage. Linebackers Benardrick McKinney and Zach Cunningham are both also playing very well against the run. These two have been key contributors to this defense allowing just the third-fewest rushing yards per game (84.1), only three rushing touchdowns on the season, and a long run of just 30 yards. Lamar Jackson will be an entirely new challenge for the Texans as they have yet to face a true rushing quarterback. The Texans did give up 34 and 56 rushing yards to Gardner Minshew in two games against him, but beyond that, these linebackers have done a good job limiting quarterbacks to fewer than eight rushing yards in all other games. This should be an exciting matchup in the trenches as the Texans will pose one of the stiffest challenges yet for this elite Ravens ground game.

2019 Week 6 vs CIN (5 / 31 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Justice Hill got more involved early in the game and found success with his carries. With teams seemingly selling out to stop Ingram and Edwards from rushing inside The Ravens found success attacking the edges with Hill and Jackson as runners. Hill picked up 9 yards on his first carry, a toss play to the outside. Hill showed off his burst finding a crease off right tackle and exploding for a 12 yard gain. Hill runs hard but still loses most collisions as a result of his size and is most effective in open space.
