From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Oct 21): Henderson disappointed along with the rest of the Rams running game, but he could still get more opportunity down the line if Todd Gurley gets hurt again, and the Bengals are up this week in what could be a flexworthy game for him.

Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 6 vs SF (6 / 39 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec - 5.3 points, $4500)

Henderson saw much of his playing time in the second half of the Rams' loss to the 49ers. Malcolm Brown was the starter and the preferred option in the first half. Henderson flashed on three occasions as a runner with a perimeter run, showing burst, for more than 20 yards, a cutback for 10+ yards, and finally a red zone run down to the one-yard-line. Henderson was stuffed on fourth-and-short, however, and lost a fumble among his low moments.

2019 Week 1 vs CAR (1 / 0 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec - 0 points, $5400)

Henderson barely played in his NFL debut as he was on the field for only two snaps, including being stuffed on a red zone carry. Henderson is clearly behind Malcolm Brown as the No.2 back and Brown excelled in his first game back from a midseason 2018 injury. Henderson needs at least one of the backs ahead of him out of the way to be a viable projection for weekly usage until further notice.

Rams | Darrell Henderson sees 11 rushes (Sun Oct 20, 06:28 PM) - Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson rushed 11 times for 31 yards in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons while adding an eight-yard catch on his only target.

Our View: Henderson was a big disappointment in a game with extra opportunity against a weak defense in a blowout. He's worth holding in deep leagues to see if he can get a similar script against the Bengals next week.

Rams | Darrell Henderson logs seven touches (Sun Oct 13, 09:31 PM) - Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson rushed six times for 39 yards and caught one pass for nine yards in a 20-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Rams | Malcolm Brown expected to receive bulk of carries (Sun Oct 13, 08:23 AM) - Los Angeles Rams RB Malcolm Brown is expected to be the team's featured back in Week 6's game against the San Francisco 49ers, as a result of RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) being ruled out. RB Darrell Henderson will also likely see an increased number of offensive snaps.

Our View: Brown is facing a very tough run defense and is only a low ceiling flex, better suited for use in nonPPR leagues. Henderson should be added in leagues with large enough benches because he could make enough of an impression to have a larger role going forward.

Rams | Opportunity for Darrell Henderson? (Fri Oct 11, 10:27 PM) - Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson said he is going to be prepared for whatever role is asked of him if RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) is unable to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Our View: Gurley (quad) is doubtful for the Rams' Week 6 matchup against the 49ers. That means the Rams could turn to Malcolm Brown and Henderson at the running back position. Brown is the power back and Henderson is a good all-purpose back. Brown is a RB2 with upside while Henderson is a 'what the heck' flex.
