WR Junior Hemingway - Free Agent
|6-1, 225||Born: 12-27-1988||College: Michigan||Drafted: Round 7, pick 2012|
2014 Week 3 vs MIA (2 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)
Hemingway took a long time to get involved, but when he did he made a difference. He beat his man on a short out for a 12 yard gain and also made 3 defenders miss on a WR screen to pick up 6 yards and a first down.
2014 Week 7 vs SD (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Hemingway had a bad drop in the red zone and then left the game due to a hamstring injury.
2013 Week 2 vs DAL (1 / 1 / 10 / 0 rec)
Hemingway continues to play very little, but make the most of his playing time. He took a huge hit on his ten yard reception over the middle and did well to secure the football.
2013 Week 5 vs TEN (1 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Hemingway saw more action in Avery's absence and hauled in one grab for six yards in traffic.
2013 Week 6 vs OAK (1 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)
Hemingway was the target of Smith's first throw and showed good fight to pick up yards after the catch for an eight yard gain. He was on the field sparingly the remainder of the game and didn't find much separation.
2013 Week 8 vs CLE (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Hemingway was targeted on the Chiefs first drive and ran the wrong route. Smith threw an out and Hemingway ran a post, into a ton of traffic. He was supplanted by Chad Hall when the Chiefs needed a 4th receiver later in the game.
2013 Week 13 vs DEN (3 / 3 / 42 / 1 rec)
Hemingway was more involved than ever, catching a 17 yard bullet from Smith in the end zone for a touchdown. The catch was a good hands catch on a day where there were very few. It's also important to note that Hemingway had at least a little separation on the play, something he's struggled with. He also caught a key deep post for 16 yards on 3rd and 17 late in the game.
2013 Week 14 vs WAS (2 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)
Hemingway didn't build off last week in large part because of the game script. The Chiefs didn't throw the ball very often, or find themselves in passing downs as often as they have recently. This led to only one reception for Hemingway, and a reduction in both plays and targets.
2013 Week 16 vs IND (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Hemingway dropped his best chance for a catch and in all honesty it looked much more like a fumble. He saw a lot of action in the game but got no separation. Dexter McCluster- McCluster made a good grab in traffic on a curl route early in the game but then disappeared. When he was targeted he was blanketed by a defender, and that wasn't often.
2013 Week 17 vs SD (6 / 5 / 45 / 0 rec)
Hemingway showed both the good and bad in his most extensive appearance of the year. He failed to haul in a high pass on a short cross from Daniel on his first target and fumbled his first catch after a five yard gain. Later in the game he ran a good route on a short hitch and showed good physicality to beat his man to the ball. His biggest gain was a 24 yard post corner in the 4th quarter that he made a leaping catch on after running a solid route.
2013 Week 18 vs IND (3 / 2 / 30 / 0 rec)
Both of Hemingway's catches came with him beating press coverage to the inside. He beat a safety over the middle on a post and beat his man out of the slot on a short slant. Hemingway missed a portion of the game with injury but otherwise looked very competent against the Colts physical corners.
