Week 11: vs Chicago Bears

All WR vs CHI

FBG says: Tough matchup. The Los Angeles Rams' passing game has struggled in 2019 due to horrific performance along the offensive line. Jared Goff's passing totals have taken a dive from his sky-high levels of yesteryear, but his efficiency numbers from either a clean pocket or while under pressure are nearly identical to what they were in 2018. The primary difference in his totals is how often he has been under pressure this year. Last week, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Goff was under pressure on nearly half of his pass attempts. An already-horrific offensive line suffered two significant injuries last week, losing center Brian Allen and right tackle Rob Havenstein to injury. The Rams shuffled players around the offensive line following the injuries, making it unclear who will fill in for the injured starters; however, there will almost certainly be a drop-off in production with the reserves entering the fold. Wide receiver Brandin Cooks will also miss out once again in week 11 due to a concussion. Last week, without Cooks, the Steelers focused their efforts on shutting down Cooper Kupp. Kupp finished the game without a catch for the first time this season, and as one of the most-targeted pass-catchers in the league, he will surely bounceback this week. Robert Woods and Gerald Everett filled the void left by Cooks last weekend, and they are primed for sizable roles in the Rams' offense once again this weekend. The Chicago Bears' defense ranks fifth in the NFL this season, allowing only 5.7 adjusted yards per pass attempt. Headlining the Bears' impressive pass defense is edge-rusher Khalil Mack. Mack has been as advertised since the Bears made a blockbuster trade to acquire him one season ago, as he leads the team with 44 total pressure on opposing quarterbacks this season, more than twice as much as any other Bears defender. Nick Williams has also enjoyed a breakout season in 2019. Williams leads the team with six sacks this year, one of the highest totals of any interior defensive linemen in the NFL. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix headlines Chicago's secondary at the safety position. The offseason acquisition has filled the hole left by Adrian Amos' departure, grading as the team's number-one pass-defender. The weakness of the Bears' pass defense is over the middle of the field, where their slot cornerback, Buster Skrine, along with their linebacking unit grade as the weakest pass defenders. This weakness sets up well for another high-volume game for Gerald Everett at the tight end position along with a rebound performance from Cooper Kupp at wide receiver for the Rams. Overall, the Bears should dominate in the trenches against a horrific Rams' offensive line, holding the Rams' passing attack in-check on Sunday night. However, if the Rams do muster any success through the air, it will likely come over the middle of the field with players like Gerald Everett and Cooper Kupp.
