From the upgrade/downgrade report (Mon Nov 18): Guice looked good on his garbage time score, but it was the Jets and it was garbage time. He'll face a weary Lions defense this week and could have some flex value.

Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 11 vs NYJ (7 / 24 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 45 / 1 rec)

Derrius Guice had a combined eight touches in this game but also showed his ability to make plays.  He scored one of the Redskins two touchdowns on a screen pass that went for forty-five yards.  He also added seven carries but the run game was stagnant against the stout Jets run defense.  Derrius could end up being the starter as early as next week being that the Redskins are looking to emphasize player development with some of their younger players.

2019 Week 1 vs PHI (10 / 18 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 20 / 0 rec)

Derrius Guice was unable to get on track today as the run game was kept in check. He had ten rushes but only averaged 1.8 yards per carry. Washington's offensive line loss the battle in the trenches and Washington's offense was finding more success through the air. This game was close for over half the game but with so few opportunities in the second half, the offense didn't do much of anything. Derrius was involved in the passing game as well with three receptions. It's clear that he will be a big part of the offense, but they'll need better o-line play for Derrius to make his presence felt. It should also be noted that he didn't quite look like he fully has his burst back so that is something to keep an eye on.

Redskins | Derrius Guice added to active roster (Wed Nov 6, 07:45 PM) - Washington Redskins RB Derrius Guice (knee) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Our View: Guice will split with Adrian Peterson in a running game that has full commitment from the coaches, but lacks a surrounding team good enough for it to support even one consistent fantasy running back, let alone two.
