Godwin and Evans posted nearly identical stat lines, with both receivers pulling in 6 of 9 targets for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. Godwin piled up yards in the last two minutes of the 1st half. He marched the Bucs downfield with a 25 yard reception and a 30 yard touchdown. Godwin beat his defender down the left sideline on the touchdown, snagging the ball with a beautiful high point catch in the end zone. The Falcons quickly went three and out, giving the Bucs a few seconds left, which was long enough for Winston to find Godwin for another big gain on a deep post route. Godwin caught the ball on a two point conversion attempt in the 4th quarter, but was tackled short of the goal line. Godwin scored again late in the 4th quarter. He lined up tight to the line on the left side of the formation and caught a skinny post between defenders, then dragged one of them into the end zone with a great effort after the catch. With Desean Jackson looking like he's going to be cut or traded this offseason, Godwin is poised for more work next year as the outside receiver opposite Mike Evans.
2018 Week 16 vs DAL (6 / 3 / 39 / 0 rec - 6.9 points, $4300)

Godwin caught a crossing route in the 1st quarter for first down yardage. He picked up 8 yards with a diving catch on the sideline later in the same drive. Godwin caught a deep curl route and broke a tackle for a nice run up the left sideline early in the 3rd quarter. Jackson could miss next week with a new foot injury.
2018 Week 15 vs BAL (3 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec - 0 points, $4900)
Godwin had another day to forget as Winston threw for only 157 yards total. He outright dropped his first target, a wide-open skinny post route that hit him right in the hands. In his defense, the rain was falling pretty heavily at the time of the play. Godwin had a nice gain called back for holding on the offensive line early in the 2nd quarter. Winston targeted Godwin in the back of the end zone in the 3rd quarter, but the receiver was knocked down by incidental contact.
2018 Week 14 vs NO (10 / 1 / 13 / 0 rec - 2.3 points, $4900)
Godwin drew team-high 10 targets but was horribly inefficient, converting them to just one reception for 13 yards. Corner Eli Apple followed him for much of the day with great success. Godwin hauled in a jump ball over his defender on the first drive of the game, converting 3rd and short. Godwin caught a deep post route on play action early in the 2nd quarter and got loose in the secondary for a 48 yard catch and run, the longest passing play of the game. 2018 Week 11 vs NYG (3 / 3 / 50 / 0 rec - 8 points, $4300)

Godwin tripped and fell down on an out route later in the drive, but still managed to get back up and catch another 1st down. Godwin caught one final curl route on the last play of the game and slipped a couple of tackles for an 18 yard gain. His 7 targets were second only to check down specialist Rodgers(8) and Jackson(8).
2018 Week 9 vs CAR (3 / 2 / 40 / 0 rec - 6 points, $4400)
Godwin had only 15 yards on one reception before he got loose up the right sideline for a 25 yard gain early in the 4th quarter. His 3 targets were a season low as Humphries and Evans dominated the looks in the passing game.
2018 Week 8 vs CIN (7 / 2 / 32 / 0 rec - 7.2 points, $4500)
Godwin drew 7 targets, but couldn't get much going until late in the 2nd quarter when he secured a skinny post to convert 3rd and long with a 20 yard gain. Godwin did pick up a two point conversion, securing a laser pass from Fitzpatrick with just over a minute left in the game to tie the score up.

After another short curl route in the 2nd quarter, he was quiet until overtime. Godwin's biggest catch of the day was a 23 yard corner route in OT that took the Bucs into Cleveland territory on the game-winning drive. Godwin out-snapped Adam Humphries and Desean Jackson in week 7, trailing only Mike Evans for WR snaps.
2018 Week 6 vs ATL (9 / 6 / 56 / 1 rec - 17.6 points, $4400)
Godwin tied with Jackson for a team-high 9 targets, working all over the field in a variety of routes. Godwin caught a quick slant on Winston's first pass attempt of the game. He caught a short out route for a minimal gain in the 2nd quarter. Godwin was the target on Winston's second interception, but there wasn't much he could do as the QB made an ill-advised pass into triple coverage in the end zone. Godwin got blown up trying to bring the ball down, and Atlanta secured the pass after it popped straight up into the air. Godwin scored early in the 4th quarter, working his way open in the end zone as Winston faked a handoff to Barber from the 8 yard line. Godwin made an amazing save on a pass that Cameron Brate bobbled several times later in the 4th, plucking the ball from the air while two defenders dragged Brate to the ground.
2018 Week 4 vs CHI (2 / 2 / 22 / 0 rec - 4.2 points, $4500)
Godwin got his usual snaps in the receiver rotation, but didn't draw a target until securing a couple of 11 yard gains from Winston in the 4th quarter, the second one converting 4th and 3 and taking Tampa Bay into the Chicago red zone.
2018 Week 3 vs PIT (10 / 5 / 74 / 1 rec - 17.4 points, $4800)
Godwin piled up 10 targets, second only to Evans, and found paydirt for the third game in a row. Godwin nearly had a touchdown at the end of the 2nd quarter, but he dropped the ball as he was driven to the ground by a couple of defenders. Later in the 3rd quarter, Godwin made an amazing diving catch on a post route, and nearly had another touchdown, but Pittsburgh challenged that Godwin had been downed by contact before getting up and sprinting for the touchdown. Godwin caught a WR screen later in the same series and weaved his way down the left sideline to convert 3rd and long. Fitzpatrick found Godwin in the back of the end zone with a jump ball in the 4th quarter, making it 3 straight weeks Godwin has found the end zone.

He could see more targets next week if Jackson misses time with his concussion.
Latest NewsBuccaneers | Chris Godwin to move into slot? (Fri Feb 15, 01:37 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is the best fit to reprise the Larry Fitzgerald role and play the slot position in head coach Bruce Arians' new offense in Tampa, according to PewterReport.com. Our View: This is great news for Godwin, so keep an eye on his usage during the offseason workouts under Arians. Fitzgerald had three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons working from the slot in Arians offense.
link to story Buccaneers | Chris Godwin headed for big 2019? (Thu Feb 7, 09:32 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin's targets rose from 55 his rookie year to 95 in 2018, and he finished third on the team in snaps played among receivers. Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com believes the trend will continue in 2019, and Godwin could be headed for his first 1,000-yard campaign. Our View: We think Godwin's role continues to grow as well. The Buccaneers are likely to part ways with DeSean Jackson and that just opens more things up for Godwin opposite of Mike Evans. In 2018, Godwin finished as the no.25 receiver for Fantasy GMs in standard scoring leagues. He's got solid WR2 ability provided that he stays healthy and continues to improve.
