Recent Game Summaries
2019 Week 11 vs DET (13 / 9 / 148 / 0 rec - 26.8 points, $6500)
Gallup led Dallas in targets and yards in their impressive offensive showing and win over the Lions. With Amari Cooper absorbing Darius Slay's coverage, Gallup feasted with three receptions in the first 10 minutes of the game and more than 100 yards in the first half alone. Gallup's highlights included a 40+ yard deep sideline grab in a 50-50 situation, corralling a low slant target, and consistently winning on intermediate routes throughout the game.
2019 Week 10 vs MIN (10 / 4 / 76 / 1 rec - 17.6 points, $6300)
While Gallup was third fiddle to Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb for production against the Vikings, Gallup posted 76 yards and found the end zone on a wide-open crossing route. Gallup added two third-down receptions and a contested comeback route. Gallup is on a per-game pace of more than 1,200 yards this season and Dallas, after approaching 400 yards passing against the Vikings, gets a favorable matchup against Detroit next week.
2019 Week 9 vs NYG (6 / 2 / 33 / 1 rec - 11.3 points, $6300)
Gallup's highlight play came on a diving touchdown to the pylon after a red zone out route, one of just two catches for the second-year receiver against the Giants. Gallup corralled a wide-open slant for more than 15 yards on his other reception, but also dropped a pass later in the game. Gallup lone deep opportunity was a diving sideline attempt which was just out of reach.
2019 Week 7 vs PHI (4 / 3 / 34 / 0 rec - 6.4 points, $6500)
Gallup shifted back to his ancillary duties with Amari Cooper active against the Eagles. Gallup saw a tepid four targets with the Cowboys controlling the game on the ground and with their defense. Gallup Gallup fared well with his sparse opportunities, however, bursting though contact on a third-and-long screen pass to convert and adjusting well to a slant pass on his back hip earlier in the game. Gallup did drop a red zone slant target for his lone misstep.
2019 Week 6 vs NYJ (7 / 4 / 48 / 0 rec - 8.8 points, $5600)
Amari Cooper missed nearly the entire game against the Jets with a first quarter quad injury. Gallup was thrust into the WR1 role and struggled for impact. Gallup had two drops among his seven targets, leading the team, and another potential target which he could not control. On the plus side, Gallup had a big-time contested reception on a pass behind him and drew a late-game defensive pass interference as Dallas continued their comeback effort.
2019 Week 5 vs GB (14 / 7 / 113 / 1 rec - 27.3 points, $5000)
After two missed games, Gallup was back in the lineup against Green Bay as Dallas was in pure comeback mode for much of the contest. Gallup was not involved much until the closing minutes of the first half, but still surged to a big game with 14 targets (matching Amari Cooper for the team lead) and finding the end zone for the first time this season. Gallup fought through contact on a long 50/50 pass, winning at the catch point, and breaking a tackle for the highlight touchdown. Gallup collected five of his seven receptions on comeback routes, breaking a tackle on one of them and showing strong hands in a contested setting on another. Gallup did add a drop to his log against the Packers.
2019 Week 2 vs WAS (8 / 6 / 68 / 0 rec - 12.8 points, $5600)
Gallup led the Cowboys in targets against Washington and logged a second consecutive impressive game to open his sophomore NFL season. Gallup showed nice hands on a contested reception and later missed a potential long touchdown as Dak Prescott threw a deep pass over Gallup's wrong shoulder. Gallup's progression from his rookie season, adding more intermediate route success has been a noteworthy trend through two games. Gallup limped off the field late in the game with a knee injury and is being evaluated early in the week in advance of their Week 3 matchup against Miami.
2019 Week 1 vs NYG (7 / 7 / 158 / 0 rec - 25.8 points, $4300)
Gallup surged along with the rising tide of Dallas' electric passing game in the divisional win over the Giants in Week 1. Gallup got loose deep on multiple occasions, including a long yards-after-the-catch foray and a perfect Dak Prescott deep throw against the blitz to Gallup. Gallup looks to have competition for targets from top receiver Amari Cooper and added Randall Cobb, but the 2019 debut for the second-year receiver showed a well-rounded usage (plus the downfield connection with Prescott) pointing to promise this season.
