Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 11 vs LAR (14 / 7 / 57 / 0 rec - 9.2 points, $5500)

Taylor Gabriel led the Bears with 14 targets against the Rams on Sunday. Gabriel was a featured part of the offense because Jalen Ramsey shadowed Allen Robinson while Mitchell Trubisky found every excuse to check down during the game. Despite the big workload, Gabriel provided little value, because he dropped multiple passes and his receptions were typically off-target, which provided little opportunity to run after the catch. Trubisky was benched at the end of the game, so his status is important to watch during the week as the Giants have a good matchup next week against the Giants.

2019 Week 10 vs DET (6 / 4 / 39 / 1 rec, 1 / -1 / 0 rush - 11.8 points, $5200)

Taylor Gabriel had a touchdown on a corner route against the Lions that buoyed his fantasy day. Gabriel has been erratic this season in fantasy contributions because of poor play at quarterback but is capable of a long score in any game. He also managed another deep target that was overthrown and he was led into a massive hit on a bad throw. Gabriel will face the Rams next week, in a game where Trubisky figures to struggle under pressure.

2019 Week 3 vs WAS (7 / 6 / 75 / 3 rec, 1 / 7 / 0 rush - 29.2 points, $4800)

Taylor Gabriel had a career game against Washington on Monday night. He scored two red zone touches, one on a blown coverage on a crossing route, and the second on an RPO. He added a fantastic catch on a deep pass along the sideline where he caught the ball and managed to get two feet in bounds for a third touchdown. Gabriel was otherwise a short-area target for the passing game. He will face a tough test next week against the Vikings.

2019 Week 1 vs GB (5 / 2 / 24 / 0 rec - 3.4 points, $5100)

Taylor Gabriel was the only receiver other than Allen Robinson to catch a pass against the Green Bay Packers, in a woeful offensive performance by the Bears. Gabriel could have had a respectable day but was led out of bounds on a perimeter target and called for pass interference on a long reception. Gabriel will look to improve on his ancillary role in the offense next week against Denver but needs Mitchell Trubisky to improve to be fantasy viable.
