Week 12: vs Jacksonville Jaguars

All RB vs JAX

FBG says: Good matchup. The Titans offense is one of the most run-heavy in the league as Derrick Henry comes into this week ranked eighth in rushing attempts per game with 831 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Henry is coming off a monster game as he ran through the Chiefs defense before the bye, posting a season-high 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns--his first game of the season with multiple rushing touchdowns. Henry has rushed for 75 or more yards in three of his last four games and in 7-of-10 outings this season. He has no competition for touches on the ground in this offense, and the Titans coaching staff has and will continue leaning heavily on Henry as part of their offensive scheme. The Titans offensive line has had their struggles this season, but mostly in pass protection as this group remains an A+ run-blocking unit according to Matt Bitonti of Footballguys. Center Ben Jones returning to the lineup was a nice boost for this group as they now have all key contributors healthy again coming out of the bye. The Jaguars defense has been very inconsistent against the run this season, looking dominant at times while laughable at others. They are coming off two very poor performances, giving up 160 rushing yards to Carlos Hyde in Week 9 followed by a total of 236 rushing yards to Colts running backs last week--including over 100 yards to two separate running backs, one of whom was backup Jonathan Williams. This defensive line for Jacksonville is stout as they sport one of the best interior defenders in football--Calais Campbell. He is an elite run-stopper who continues to excel as one of the top players at his position. The rest of this defensive line, while not elite, has actually been decent in the trenches, consistently winning matchups and getting into opposing backfields. It is the linebacker group and secondary that has let this run defense down with their extremely poor tackling. The performance from Myles Jack last week is a prime example of this as he missed a number of open field tackles that resulted in big extra gains. Derrick Henry had one of his worst games of the season against this defense in Week 3, but this Titans offense is slightly more dangerous now while he also has a healthy and complete offensive line that should hold their own in this matchup.
