Week 11: at San Francisco 49ers

All WR vs SF

FBG says: Bad matchup. The Arizona Cardinals' passing attack is one of the league's highest-volume groups in the NFL. As rookie quarterback Kyler Murray has matured throughout the season, he has shown an ability to minimize negative plays, avoiding both sacks and interceptions at an impressive rate. Murray has turned the ball over just one time in the last six games, and he is taking unnecessary sacks far less frequently. Through the air, Christian Kirk has emerged as the team's new number-one receiver in recent weeks. Over the last three games, Kirk leads the team in targets, receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and air yards. Kirk has accumulated more than twice as many air yards as the next-closest player on the team, showing how much more valuable his targets are than other Arizona receivers. Larry Fitzgerald is the team's second-leading producer at the wide receiver position. Over the last three games, Fitzgerald ranks second on the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. While his role is smaller than it was at the beginning of the season, it is still valuable in a high-volume passing attack like Arizona's. Head coach and play-caller Kliff Kingsbury has done an exceptional job at scheming an offense built to deter opposing defenses from sending pressure at his quarterback. He thrived in this regard during his days coaching in college, and now in the NFL, Kyler Murray is throwing from a clean pocket nearly as much as any quarterback in the league, even behind what many believe to be a sub-par offensive line. The San Francisco 49ers' pass defense is undoubtedly one of the strongest in the NFL this season. They were a relatively untested unit early in the season, as they faced one of the NFL's softest schedules. Monday night's performance against MVP frontrunner Russell Wilson when they allowed just 232 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception solidified their standing as an elite unit. On the season, the 49ers have allowed only 4.4 adjusted yards per attempt, the 2nd-best mark in the league. Their strength against the pass starts with an elite pass rush featuring four above-average pass-rushers. Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, and Arik Armstead have each tallied at least four sacks this season. This top-flight pass-rush is supported by one of the league's best secondaries. 31-year-old cornerback Richard Sherman still leads the way for San Francisco with 3 interceptions on the season. Alongside Sherman, K'Waun Williams and Emmanuel Moseley have impressed as well this season, rounding out one of the league's deepest and most talented defensive backfields. The 49ers have only allowed 1 300-yard passing performance this season, which came in a 42-attempt week 2 game from Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals' offense thanks to a 66-yard passing touchdown with less than 1 minute remaining in the game. San Francisco stifled Arizona's passing attack two weeks ago, holding Kyler Murray to 241 passing yards on the day. Expect more of the same this weekend when they play host to the Arizona Cardinals in their second clash in the last three weeks.
