Summary

Cook appears to be saving the best for last in his career, as he is coming off of his best season as a pro to land in the best situation he has been in as a pro. The Saints should see better results from Cook than Coby Fleener, their last big free agent signing at tight end. The main question is just how good, as they haven't had someone to harvest the considerable value from that position since Jimmy Graham. Since then, the overall passing production has dropped, and Cook will also have better competition for downfield targets than Saints tight ends have had in recent years. He's worth the pick at a back half of the TE1 ranks price with top half of the TE1 ranks upside. (May 1)

Saints | Jared Cook's role to expand? (Sun May 12, 08:10 PM) - New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook will be given the chance to show 'everything he can do' for the offense, according to tight ends coach Dan Campbell. 'The guy is over 30 and he still runs like the wind. He can absolutely smoke,' Campbell said. 'He's got 35-inch arms, he is long, and he is fast.'

Our View: We've seen Cook finish as a top-5 fantasy tight end like he did last season for the Raiders. This is a much better passing game with the Saints, so projecting him for similar output is not outlandish. We like where he's going off the board right now. Cook has a current ADP of TE8 (6.10) in 12-team PPR leagues.
