Game Recaps

2006 Week 1 vs CLE (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

No Saints' tight end was targeted in this game, as most of the short passes went directly to Reggie Bush.

2006 Week 2 vs GB (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Conwell had one target thrown his way but the pass was under thrown.

2006 Week 3 vs ATL (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Conwell was not a factor in the passing game and did not have any balls thrown in his direction.

2006 Week 4 vs CAR (7 / 5 / 37 / 0 rec)

Conwell was the most targeted receiver of any Saints' player. That is rather remarkable; as he had not caught a single pass this year coming into Week 4. Conwell took advantage of the chances, catching five passes for 37 total yards. All but one of the catches was less than ten yards, with the longest going for 15 yards and a first down.

2006 Week 5 vs TB (4 / 2 / 14 / 1 rec)

Conwell was thrown to four times, catching two passes for 14 yards, including a nine yard touchdown reception. He also dropped a touchdown pass that hit him in the numbers and should have been hauled in.

2006 Week 6 vs PHI (1 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)

Conwell hauled in just one pass for seven yards.

2006 Week 12 vs ATL (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Conwell caught his only target in the game, but it was nullified by penalty.

2005 Week 1 vs CAR (6 / 6 / 71 / 0 rec)

Pay attention here. Conwell emerged in this game as a new favorite target of Brooks. Taking over at the tight end position for the injured Boo Williams, Conwell effectively worked the middle of the field including some deeper routes. He caught nearly everything thrown his way, and made a number of highly acrobatic catches. However, Conwell was knocked out of the game in the third quarter after he was absolutely clobbered while trying to make a leaping catch in the middle of the field. He had to be helped off of the field and did not return to the game. The word was a "displaced" jaw but after the game he appeared to be just fine in the locker room talking to reporters with no problem.

2005 Week 2 vs NYG (4 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Conwell was off his game and was not able to come up with a reception despite being targeted four times. He turned late on a deeper pass thrown to him on third down that would have given the Saints a first down had he caught it. Conwell was also targeted in the end zone, but Brooks overthrew him.

2005 Week 3 vs MIN (8 / 3 / 65 / 1 rec)

Conwell was Brooks' favorite target, getting eight looks from the QB and finishing with 65 yards and the Saints only passing TD. He had one catch that would have been a 14 yard gain called back after a challenge.

2005 Week 4 vs BUF (3 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Conwell caught one of his four passes for five yards. He allowed one pass to slip through his hands and would have had a first down had he been able to hang on to the ball.

2005 Week 5 vs GB (6 / 3 / 24 / 0 rec)

Conwell had three catches for 24 yards in the game including an 11 yard gain on fourth and 10 in the fourth quarter. He fumbled in the second quarter after a hard hit from Packers' Safety Nick Collins that led to another touchdown by Green Bay.

2005 Week 7 vs STL (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Though he officially did not have a reception, Conwell did appear to have a reception for a first down that was ruled an interception, though it seemed as though Conwell was down by contact. He was used as a blocker for most of the game.
