Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 7 vs LAC (8 / 6 / 64 / 0 rec, 1 / -2 / 0 rush - 9.2 points, $5300)

A.J. Brown led the team in targets with eight, hauling in six of them for 64 yards. He made his first three catches on the same drive just before halftime. His first came from a simple 5-yard in route ran well by Brown, who tacked on extra yards after the catch to complete a 16-yard gain. His next catch came two plays later on a deep route where Brown had to elevate to grab a high-thrown ball that he hauled in with a defender basically hanging off his back. His last catch of that drive was from a curl route just short of the end zone as Brown hauled it in for an 11-yard gain. Brown made three more catches on the same drive late in the fourth quarter. The first was a short pass for five yards. The second came on third down where Brown easily converted it, finding himself wide open for an 11-yard gain. The next catch also came on third down, but Brown was tackled just inches short as he was well covered and immediately tackled for just a six-yard gain.

2019 Week 6 vs DEN (4 / 2 / 23 / 0 rec - 3.3 points, $5400)

A.J. Brown had another forgettable outing this week as he managed to haul in just two receptions for 23 yards. His first reception came on the third drive of the game as Brown caught a short pass to the right side for 13 yards. He actually fumbled at the end of the play as the ball, to Brown's benefit, went out of bounds. Brown would hurt himself late in the game as he negated his own spectacular 42-yard reception with a self-induced pass interference penalty that brought the play back and ultimately stifled that drive. His final catch came in garbage time as he took another short pass 10 yards.

2019 Week 5 vs BUF (2 / 2 / 27 / 0 rec - 3.7 points, $5600)

A.J. Brown saw just two targets in this game--a disappointing showing to prove his rock bottom floor in this offense. Brown's first reception was his longest of the day as he hauled in a 14-yarder from a great play-action fake by Marcus Mariota. Brown would haul in a short pass over the middle for 13 yards midway through the fourth quarter. The kicker for Brown, however, was the touchdown taken off the board due to an illegal forward pass by Marcus Mariota. This would have marked Brown's third score of the season as he found himself wide open in the end zone.

2019 Week 4 vs ATL (3 / 3 / 94 / 2 rec - 22.9 points, $4700)

A.J. Brown had a big day where he would find the end zone for the first and second time in his NFL career. His first reception of the game was the biggest play of the day for any Titans player as Brown caught the ball in the middle of the field, made a slight fake to the right, then turned on the burners as he accelerated down the left side all the way to the end zone for a 55-yard touchdown reception. Brown's next catch would also find the end zone as Mariota lofted it above the Falcons defender so Brown could jump up from the fade route and snag it on the right sideline of the end zone for the score. Brown's final reception came near the start of the second quarter as he was wide open deep over the middle of the field, catching the pass in stride for a 30-yard gain.

2019 Week 3 vs JAX (5 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec - 0.9 points, $5200)

A.J. Brown managed to haul in just one reception for four yards after being targeted five times in a losing effort last week.

2019 Week 2 vs IND (5 / 3 / 25 / 0 rec - 4 points, $5400)

A.J. Brown was targeted five times, catching three for 25 yards. His first reception came on the Titans' second drive as he was targeted with a short pass on third down, failing to convert. His second reception didn't come until the fourth quarter, but it was a nice catch as Brown worked the sidelined and showed great focus to hang on to the ball for an 11-yard gain. Brown would have another target in the fourth quarter bounce right off his hands as he was under tight coverage. He caught one more short pass on the final drive to finish his day.

2019 Week 1 vs CLE (4 / 3 / 100 / 0 rec - 11.5 points, $5100)

A.J. Brown's official NFL career started with a bang with a few huge plays in his first NFL regular season game. The first came very early as he hauled in 47-yard reception on the opening drive-. Brown found space in coverage as he was wide open for the catch. He then kepd pushing downfield with a defender around his waist until he shed the tackler and gained a few more yards. Later in the first half, Brown could have had a decent chance at a touchdown reception had Mariota not dramatically overthrown his target. Brown would come back on the first play of the second half with another huge play. He caught the ball in stride about 12 yards downfield before striding across the field, shedding 1 tackler, and making two more defenders miss as he turned it upfield to complete what would be a 51-yard gain. Overall, Brown would finish with 100 receiving yards from three receptiosn in his NFL debut.
