Recent Game Summaries

2019 Week 13 vs JAX (1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec - 1 points, $5000)

Brate checked in with 1 catch for a five yard gain in the 2nd quarter.

2019 Week 12 vs ATL (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec - 0 points, $5400)

Brate saw plenty of snaps, but only one target after last week's 14-target outing. He could not collect his only look in the 3rd quarter.

2019 Week 11 vs NO (14 / 10 / 73 / 0 rec - 12.3 points, $4500)

Brate, forgotten for weeks in this offense barren of tight end production, appeared to be the beneficiary of the coaching staff's frustration with Howard. Howard bobbled an easy catch on a short route in the 1st, resulting in an interception. Howard was benched after the interception. Brate was targeted across the middle on Tampa's next offensive play, and went on to draw a team-high 14 targets. Brate and Winston couldn't get any of their big connections down the seam going, instead working the short middle and outside of the field with out and crossing routes. Brate collected 10 of his 14 targets, but did not draw any looks in the end zone.

2019 Week 10 vs ARI (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec - 0 points, $5100)

Brate was healthy, but was held without a catch again this week.

2019 Week 9 vs SEA (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec - 0 points, $5100)

Brate posted a complete dud in OJ Howards absence this week against a Seahawks defense that has been fairly generous to tight ends. Backup TE's Hudson and Auclair both caught a pass, and Hudson had a target in the end zone that he nearly collected for a score. This offense has proven to be a barren wasteland for tight end productivity, with Evans and Godwin hogging all the targets on a weekly basis.

2019 Week 8 vs TEN (6 / 3 / 32 / 0 rec - 4.7 points, $5200)

Brate unfortunately did not see an uptick in his usage with OJ Howard this week. He caught a deep out route for a 12 yard gain early in the first drive of the game. He made a tough catch in traffic on a curl route in the 2nd quarter, and finished with a short reception in the 3rd, totaling a paltry 32 yards on the day. Backup tight end Hudson actually drew more looks in the red zone.

2019 Week 6 vs CAR (4 / 2 / 47 / 1 rec - 11.7 points, $4900)

Similar to Howard, Brate caught 2 of 4 passes this week, but he was much more efficient with his catches. Brate scored in the 4th quarter, lining up tight to the offensive line on the 9 yard line and taking off on one of the patented post routes that he and Winston have had so much success with. Brate also logged the longest reception of the day with a 30 yard post route in the 4th that saw him rumble through a tackler before picking up more yards downfield.

2019 Week 5 vs NO (1 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec - 1.6 points, $4900)

Brate secured his only target for an 11 yard gain up the seam on the first offensive play of the game.

2019 Week 4 vs LAR (3 / 3 / 36 / 1 rec - 11.1 points, $4500)

Brate made a tough contested catch up the seam on the first drive of the game. He caught an out route for a solid gain late in the 3rd quarter. Brate found the end zone at the end of the same drive, running one of his signature seam routes and making a tough contested catch. Brate hasn't generated much in the way of stats, but he's found the end zone three times this season, which is three more than OJ Howard has accounted for.

2019 Week 3 vs NYG (3 / 2 / 7 / 0 rec - 1.7 points, $4500)

Brate took a backseat as Howard worked more deep routes down the seam and sideline. Brate managed only two catches for a total of 7 yards as Winston did most of his damage with Evans.

2019 Week 2 vs CAR (2 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec - 2 points, $4800)

Brate caught an out route for a short gain before being pushed out of bounds in the 1st. Brate had one more tough catch in traffic to convert 3rd and 4 late in the 1st half.

2019 Week 1 vs SF (2 / 2 / 8 / 0 rec - 1.8 points, $4800)

Brate scored on a beautifully executed tight end screen from Winston in the 2nd quarter, faking a block and running untouched in to the end zone, but the play was called back for a holding penalty on the offensive line. Brate had yet another touchdown nullified by a holding penalty(both were on Demar Dotson) later in the same drive after he made an amazing toe-tapping catch over two defenders in the back of the end zone. Brate finished the day with two official catches for just 8 yards.
