2019 Week 1 vs SF (8 / 33 / 0 rush, 4 / 2 / 12 / 0 rec)
Starting halfback Barber bounced a 14 yard run off left tackle in the 1st quarter, his longest gain of the day. He didn't do much else on the ground. He was the target on Winston's second interception of the day, splitting out wide right to run a slant route. Winston overthrew him badly, but coach Arians later blamed the play on Barber's route-running. Barber caught a halfback screen in the 1st quarter for a short gain. He caught another pass out of the backfield in the third quarter and fumbled, but managed to recover the ball. Ronald Jones came on strong in the second half, ripping off runs up the middle as he out-carried Barber 13-8 on the night.
2019 Week 2 vs CAR (23 / 82 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)
Barber looked solid in this one, making some impressive cuts at the line of scrimmage as he gashed the Panthers defense between the tackles several times. He scored in the third quarter, plowing through the secondary after carrying the ball through the middle of the offensive line untouched. The offensive line got a great push on the play and Barber did his part at the second level. Barber made an impressive catch on a low pass from Winston in the 2nd quarter while leaking out of the backfield, spinning away from a tackle as he collected the ball and dodged a second defender on his way to extra yards. Barber dominated snaps and backfield touches, with the other two halfbacks combining for just 5 touches.
2019 Week 3 vs NYG (13 / 48 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 7 / 0 rec)
Barber got the start but was outplayed by his backfield mate Jones. The two logged the same number of touches, but Jones performed considerably better and the Bucs leaned on him more in the second half. Barber was only able to muster 48 yards on the ground with 13 carries, while Jones picked up 80 with just one more tote. Barber caught both targets on checkdown passes out of the backfield, but only managed 7 yards.
2019 Week 4 vs LAR (9 / 19 / 1 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber capped the opening drive off with a touchdown after Chris Godwin was brought down at the four yard line, but quickly relinquished backfield duties to Jones, who was featured almost exclusively in the second half. Barber got stuffed on his first attempt, but scored off left tackle on his second attempt. Barber got another goal line carry from the 3 yard line in the 2nd quarter, but couldn't convert as Chris Godwin eventually caught a touchdown pass to seal the drive. He finished the day with just 9 carries and no catches on one target.
2019 Week 5 vs NO (8 / 32 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / -1 / 0 rec)
Barber got the nod in the backfield at the beginning of the 1st and 3rd quarters and found the end zone once, but Ronald Jones finished the day with a couple more touches and a slightly better stat line. Barber was able to punch a touchdown in from the 2 yard line in the 3rd quarter. He lost a yard on a checkdown pass from Winston, his only target of the day.
2019 Week 6 vs CAR (8 / 28 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber got the start and racked up 8 ineffective carries early in the contest, but he was quickly phased out of the gameplan as the Bucs fell behind. Though he had twice as many totes, both Jones and Ogunbowale got goal line carries and converted them into touchdowns. Barber was not targeted in the passing game.
2019 Week 8 vs TEN (10 / 20 / 0 rush, 3 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)
Barber(10 carries) continues to be locked into an unproductive time share with Ronald Jones(11 carries), as he ground out 20 yards total. Barber got stuffed on a goal line carry early in the 1st quarter after Evans set the offense up inside the 5 yard line with a PI flag. Barber nearly scored on a red zone screen pass that he took down to the Titans' two yard line in the 3rd quarter, his only catch of the day on 3 targets. He was stuffed on a 4th and 1 attempt late in the 4th quarter.
2019 Week 9 vs SEA (4 / 15 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
It looks as though the torch has finally been passed, as Jones got the start this week and dominated the snap count. Barber managed 15 yards on just 4 carries and was not targeted in the passing game. Jones and passing down specialist Ogunbowale both rushed for touchdowns and got more work in the passing game.
2019 Week 10 vs ARI (11 / 43 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)
Barber took a backseat to Jones for the first part of the game, but was featured on the final drive after Jones inexplicably fumbled the ball without contact in the 4th quarter. Barber punched a late touchdown in as the 4th quarter ticked away after Mike Evans drew a pass interference penalty in the end zone, setting the Bucs up at the 1 yard line with about a minute left in the game. Barber's longest run of the day was a 17 yard gain on a nice draw play in the 2nd quarter that Barber broke to the right sideline for extra yardage. He had another impressive romp off right tackle late on the final drive, before scoring his short touchdown run. Barber had a better per-carry average than Jones, though Jones significantly outplayed him in the passing game. This backfield situation is still pretty murky.
2019 Week 11 vs NO (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 11 / 1 rec)
Barber, like Jones, did quite literally nothing on the ground(0 carries) with Tampa Bay playing from behind. He did have a nice touchdown catch on a 7 yard stick route from Winston late in the 2nd quarter.
2019 Week 12 vs ATL (11 / 32 / 0 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber contributed little in a clear backup roll to Jones this week. He worked into the rotation late in the 1st quarter, logging his first carry on the third drive of the game. Barber scraped together 32 yards on 11 carries and could not secure his only target.
2019 Week 13 vs JAX (17 / 44 / 2 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber entered the game after Ronald Jones on the Bucs second offensive drive. He exploded through a gap off right tackle for a 15 yard touchdown(also his longest) run at the end of the 1st. Barber punched another touchdown in from the 1 yard line on the next offensive drive after Dare Ogunbowale got stuffed on his attempt. The Bucs continued to feed Barber after that, and he led the backfield with 17 carries to Jones' 6. Barber racked up 44 yards and was not targeted in the passing game.
2019 Week 14 vs IND (11 / 34 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 19 / 0 rec)
Barber entered the game after Jones, but received as many carries throughout the game. He caught a short crossing route from a scrambling Winston and turned it into a 16 yard gain in the 2nd quarter, his longest gain of the day.
2019 Week 15 vs DET (10 / 17 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 23 / 0 rec)
Barber and Jones were pretty even with their touches, and both were equally ineffective. Barber had two late receptions to help extend a clock-killing 4th quarter drive-9 yards on a checkdown pass from Winston, then another 14 yards on a halfback screen two plays later. He totaled just 17 yard on his 10 carries.
2019 Week 16 vs HOU (5 / 13 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber had a magnificent hurdle in the 1st quarter in which he leaped over two defenders, kept his feet, and picked up a first down and more, but the play was called back for a holding penalty on the offensive line. Barber coughed up a fumble at the end of a nice 2nd quarter run and was benched for the remainder of the game.
2019 Week 17 vs ATL (6 / 10 / 0 rush, 4 / 2 / 25 / 0 rec)
Barber continues to fade as Jones seizes control of the backfield. He was out-touched 11-6 on the ground even though Jones struggled with ball security. Barber was stuffed on a goal line attempt in the 2nd quarter. He snagged a well-executed halfback screen for a 14 yard gain early in the 2nd quarter. Winston checked it down to him a few plays later for an 11 yard gain up the right sideline.
2018 Week 1 vs NO (19 / 69 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber had a solid but unspectacular game as Ryan Fitzpatrick and the receiving core lit it up. Barber drew the start, breaking his longest run off left tackle for a 23 yard gain in the first quarter. The Bucs kept running just enough to make the play action effective. Barber had a goal line touchdown vultured by Fitzpatrick in the 1st, as the QB faked a handoff and a rolled out on a bootleg, punching the ball in himself. Barber got a couple more carries inside the five yard line later in the third quarter, but was unable to find the end zone. The Bucs used Barber to grind clock in the 4th quarter as they held off Drew Brees and the Saints offense. Barber wasn't target in the passing game, but backup Jacquizz Rodgers only logged 3 touches to Barber's 19.
2018 Week 2 vs PHI (16 / 22 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)
The Tampa Bay running game didn't contribute much other than keeping the Philadelphia defense honest on play action passes. Barber, who averaged less than 2 yards a carry, is the clear lead in the backfield, but there just isn't much room to run right now. Barber picked up a couple of targets in the passing game, securing an out route to pick up a first down in the first half.
2018 Week 3 vs PIT (8 / 33 / 0 rush, 2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber had some success up the middle in the 1st quarter. He nearly scored on an 18 yard run, but was tripped up by a defender inside the Steelers 5 yard line. The Bucs faked a play action to Barber on the next play and scored with a pass to Brate. Barber got another goal line carry from the 5 at the end of the 2nd quarter, but he couldn't punch it in. The Bucs quickly fell behind and Barber was essentially phased out by the game plan, as he logged a few more carries to keep the defense honest on the play-action deep balls that Fitzpatrick was lobbing downfield for Evans and Godwin. Barber got once more goal line carry from the 4 yard line in the 2nd half, but couldn't punch it in. He was targeted twice on checkdown passes, but could not secure either target.
2018 Week 4 vs CHI (7 / 24 / 0 rush, 2 / 1 / 6 / 0 rec)
Barber got the start but was out-touched 11-8 by Ronald Jones after the rookie was activated for the first time this season. Barber did out-snap Jones, but managed just 24 yards on his 7 carries. He caught a short checkdown pass from Winston late in the 3rd quarter for a short gain. It looks like Jones may get the start next week.
2018 Week 6 vs ATL (13 / 82 / 0 rush, 4 / 4 / 24 / 1 rec)
Barber got the start and the majority of the snaps in the backfield. Ronald Jones made just a few brief appearances to relieve him, and Jacquizz Rodgers only played special teams. Barber ripped a 28 yard run off right tackle on his second carry of the 1st quarter, his longest of the season. He got involved in the passing game early, catching a checkdown out of the backfield for a 9 yard gain in the 1st quarter. Barber got a goal line carry from the 2 yard line in the 3rd quarter, but was stonewalled at the line of scrimmage. The Bucs were backed up by a false start penalty on the next play and Winston threw an interception on the next, killing the drive. Barber peeled off another nice run at the end of the 3rd quarter, taking a pitch around the left end and juking several tacklers for a gain of 20 yards. Barber's hard running kept the Atlanta defense honest, and the Bucs used a play action pass from a goal line set to get WR Godwin wide open at the end of an early 4th quarter drive. Barber caught a screen out of the backfield later in the 4th, then capped the drive with a short touchdown reception. Winston took the snap from the shotgun and Barber chipped a defender with a block, then worked his way out of the end zone where no one covered him.
2018 Week 7 vs CLE (11 / 30 / 0 rush, 2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber dominated the snaps in the backfield until he left the game with an undisclosed injury in the 3rd quarter. Barber was dropped in his own end zone for a safety on the Bucs' opening drive. Cleveland downed the ball inside Tampa Bay's 1 yard line, and Barber's offensive line couldn't generate enough push to get him out of the end zone. Barber punched a touchdown in from the Browns 5 yard line in the 2nd quarter, but the play was reversed by a holding call. Barber had a bad drop on a screen pass in the 3rd quarter. Shortly after the drop, he disappeared from the game though the Bucs did not comment on his injury. Ronald Jones and Jacquizz Rodgers picked up the slack in his absence, logging extra snaps in the 4th quarter and overtime.
2018 Week 8 vs CIN (19 / 85 / 1 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)
Barber piled up his biggest yardage on the ground so far this season with an 85 yard performance. He drew the start over rookie Ronald Jones despite missing some practice time this past week with an undisclosed injury. He was effective on the ground, picking up good chunk yardage on several carries throughout the contest. Jones exited the game in the 2nd quarter after relieving Barber for a series and injuring his hamstring. Barber was called upon to punch the ball in when an Adam Humphries touchdown catch was reviewed and ruled down inside the 1 yard line. Barber was not targeted in the passing game, though backup Jacquizz Rodgers did pick up 4 targets. Barber had 18 carries to Jones(2) and Rodgers(1).
2018 Week 9 vs CAR (11 / 31 / 0 rush, 3 / 2 / 9 / 0 rec)

Barber picked up the majority of his yards on a 3rd quarter that he broke off right tackle, exploding into the secondary for an 18 yard gain. Barber was tackled behind the line of scrimmage on an attempted screen pass in the 1st quarter. He split out wide right in a 5WR set for his second reception, simply turning around to catch a quick pass from Fitzpatrick at the line of scrimmage before barreling upfield for 10 yards.
2018 Week 10 vs WAS (13 / 61 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)
Barber came out of the gates strong, moving the chains with several first down runs on the first and second offensive drive of the 1st quarter. He had an amazing run in at the end of the 1st quarter where he was nearly pushed out of bounds but somehow broke a couple of tackles while dancing down the sideline for a 14 yard gain. In a familiar scenario for Tampa Bay, the Bucs fell behind early and had to abandon the run game. Passing down specialist Rodgers piled up over 100 yards receiving on 8 targets as Barber and the ground game took a back seat. Barber caught a short out route in the 2nd quarter for a gain of 5.
2018 Week 11 vs NYG (18 / 106 / 1 rush, 2 / 2 / 4 / 0 rec)

Barber was almost untouched on a 5 yard touchdown run off left tackle in the 4th. Fitzpatrick hit Barber for a short gain out of the backfield in the 1st quarter. He carried the ball up the middle for 11 yards in the 1st quarter and picked up 14 yards on his longest carry of the game later in quarter. Barber punched in a touchdown from the 2 yard line in the 3rd quarter, carrying the ball right up the middle of the defense. 2018 Week 15 vs BAL (19 / 85 / 1 rush, 2 / 2 / 4 / 0 rec)

Barber came out strong with several solid runs in the first half, but as usual he was unable to break any big runs, with a long of 9 yards on the day. Barber did average over 4 yards per carry, a feat that has been rare for him in 2018. Despite Atlanta's weakness to running backs in the passing game, Barber was only targeted once on a short out route in the 1st quarter that netted two yards.
2017 Week 2 vs CHI (10 / 47 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Barber trotted out with the offense halfway through the 2nd quarter and was featured for the rest of the game, except the first series of the 2nd half which briefly featured Martin again. Barber was mildly effective, but didn't have much of a chance with the Tampa Bay passing game in the toilet. Barber hauled in a swing pass on play action for a 1st down in the 3rd quarter, then secured another checkdown pass in the 4th quarter.
2017 Week 10 vs NYJ (2 / -2 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

The majority of Barber's carries were chain-moving gains of 4-8 yards, always falling forward after contact. Barber ran hard, with a low center of gravity and solid vision. He ripped his longest run of 19 yards off right tackle late in the 3rd quarter. Barber unfortunately did not receive the goal-line opportunities that he did in week 12. He was stuffed on a 1st and goal carry from the 3 yard line early in the 4th quarter, then the Bucs botched the next two downs with an incomplete pass and a fumbled snap. 2017 Week 15 vs ATL (13 / 53 / 0 rush, 3 / 3 / 15 / 0 rec)

Charles Sims was targeted a few times out of the backfield, but did not carry the ball. Barber averaged a solid 4.1 yards against a tough Atlanta run D, but the volume wasn't there as the Bucs played from behind most of the day.
