Week 11: vs Jacksonville Jaguars

All TE vs JAX

FBG says: Neutral matchup. The Colts passing offense will be elated to have Jacoby Brissett back this week, as their offense looked disastrous under Bryan Hoyer in the loss at home against Miami last week. The situation still warrants monitoring coming into Sunday, but as of early in the week, it looks like Brissett should be good to go even if limited as a runner from his knee injury. Overall, Brissett has done a fine job leading the Colts offense this season. He did have a couple of disappointing games against the Broncos and Chiefs, but beyond those outings, Brissett had passed for multiple touchdowns in each of his five other starts and has just three interceptions to 14 touchdowns on the season. His top receiver T.Y. Hilton will very likely remain sidelined this week with a calf injury, which leaves Zach Pascal as the top wide receiver for Brissett. Pascal looked to have some chemistry with Brissett before the injury in Week 9, but keep expectations in check given Pascal is far from a true WR1 talent. In addition, Devin Funchess is eligible to return this week and could certainly garner some attention if healthy enough to suit up. At tight end, Eric Ebron dominated the attention of Hoyer with 12 targets last week--primarily due to his easy availability on short routes. Both he and Jack Doyle split targets relatively evenly under Brissett though, and both will remain touchdown-dependent options in this low volume passing offense. The Jaguars are a middle-of-the-pack passing defense without Jalen Ramsey to pair up with A.J. Bouye in shutting down outside receivers for this secondary. While Bouye does remain a strength of this defense, their true advantage will come from a defensive line that has wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks with 30 sacks on the season--tied for fifth-most in the league. This week, however, the Colts have an equally excellent offensive line that has given up an average of below two sacks per game and one of the lowest pressure rates in the league. Back to the secondary, this Jaguars group of defensive backs should have minimal issues with a ragtag bunch of Colts wide receivers--especially with Bouye helping to lock down the outside. The possible return of cornerback D.J. Hayden will also help this unit out, as Hayden was injured in Week 8 but just resumed practice this week. Where this group has faltered in recent weeks has been against tight ends, giving up four touchdowns to the position in their last four games. They have strong coverage safeties, but these Jaguars linebackers have been a liability against both tight ends and running backs--which should bode well for both Colts tight ends along with Nyhiem Hines coming out of the backfield.
