2006 Week 2 vs KC (4 / 2 / 8 / 0 rec)

Alexander is holding onto his position as the number one tight end in Denver. He was effective in blocking schemes and had some success as a short yardage receiver on simple outlet passes from Plummer.

2006 Week 3 vs NE (2 / 1 / 24 / 0 rec)

Alexander caught just one pass for 24 yards. He was only thrown to two times.

2006 Week 5 vs BAL (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander was not targeted in the game.

2006 Week 6 vs OAK (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander was targeted once, early in the second quarter. The pass was uncatchable.

2006 Week 7 vs CLE (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander received the start and saw the bulk of playing time at tight end, though did not catch a pass.

2006 Week 10 vs OAK (7 / 6 / 49 / 0 rec)

Alexander was heavily involved in the second half of the game, catching three of his six receptions after halftime. The solid ending to his performance overcame his first target, where he was the intended receiver of an underthrown pass from Plummer that was intercepted. His second target was a throwaway from Plummer, but his next six were all converted for catches and positive yardage. Alexander caught six balls in all for 49 yards, including two of 16 and 15 yards that both picked up first downs.

2006 Week 11 vs SD (1 / 1 / 4 / 0 rec)

Alexander had one catch late in the game.

2006 Week 12 vs KC (7 / 3 / 19 / 1 rec)

Alexander was a favorite for Plummer. He caught only three of the seven passes thrown to him but one was for the only passing touchdown of the day for either team.

2006 Week 13 vs SEA (2 / 2 / 16 / 1 rec)

Alexander caught both of his second quarter targets, the latter of which went for a seven yard touchdown--the first of Cutler's career.

2006 Week 15 vs ARI (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander did not have a noticeable impact in this contest. He was targeted with one pass but did not have a reception.

2006 Week 16 vs CIN (0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander had one look on a play where the defender was called for pass interference.

2006 Week 17 vs SF (1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander was the intended target on the play where San Francisco intercepted the pass for a touchdown. Apart from that play, his involvement was as a blocker.

2005 Week 1 vs MIA (3 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Alexander is a blocker not a receiver, so it was surprising to see early targets to him. He made only one catch on four targets, and Jeb Putzier was the primary tight end receiving threat.

2005 Week 2 vs SD (1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Alexander was targeted once in the game and made a five yard catch.

2005 Week 3 vs KC (1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Stephen Alexander was primarily used in blocking schemes.

2005 Week 4 vs JAX (3 / 3 / 27 / 0 rec)

Alexander was used as a target over the middle. He was utilized as more of a safety valve.

2005 Week 5 vs WAS (2 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Alexander was used mainly as a blocker in two tight end formations. His failure to catch any of the passes thrown at him was more a reflection on his quarterback, as the passes were not accurate at all.

2005 Week 6 vs NE (1 / 1 / 5 / 0 rec)

Alexander did not play much and was not utilized in the passing game except once as an outlet receiver.

2005 Week 7 vs NYG (4 / 3 / 22 / 0 rec)

Alexander's production was random, much like fellow TE Jeb Putzier's. The presence of each man cut into the other's stats and didn't allow either player to enjoy a very good day fantasy wise.

2005 Week 8 vs PHI (2 / 2 / 7 / 1 rec)

Alexander caught a short pass of four yards in the fourth quarter, and a short three yard pass in the second for a touchdown. The touchdown was a fantastic catch, as he grabbed the ball with one hand in the back of the end zone.

2005 Week 10 vs OAK (2 / 1 / 14 / 0 rec)

Alexander's role in the offense is as an occasional outlet in the red zone and usually not much else.

2005 Week 11 vs NYJ (1 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Alexander had one nine yard reception.

2005 Week 13 vs KC (2 / 1 / 9 / 0 rec)

Alexander's role was very minimal, evidenced by his sole reception.

2005 Week 14 vs BAL (1 / 1 / 15 / 0 rec)

Alexander caught the only ball thrown his way for 15 yards.

2005 Week 15 vs BUF (6 / 2 / 12 / 0 rec)

Alexander only caught two balls for a total of 12 yards from his six targets and was not much of a factor in the game.

2005 Week 16 vs OAK (2 / 2 / 17 / 0 rec)

Alexander caught two passes in the first half. He caught both of his targets, the first for five yards in the first quarter and the second for 12 yards in the second period.

2005 Week 17 vs SD (5 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)

Despite the decent amount of looks, Alexander did pretty much nothing with the passes. Several were off-target, but one would expect more than 1 reception from him.
