Summary

Greg Ward was heroic last year, at times, and will be fondly remembered by Eagles fans for years to come. But the NFL is a tough business and last year's forced playing time by no means guarantees a roster spot, much less a role, this year and beyond. Ward was a practice squad player but a litany of injuries forced a call up in Week 12. Further injuries forced Ward into the starting lineup in the final three games -- all wins. Ward's six-week totals pro-rate to 106 targets, 75 receptions, 677 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Ward's best ability was availability. With Alshon Jeffery starting the season on the PUP list and Jalen Reagor out for at least four weeks with a dislocated shoulder, Ward could start this year as he ended last, in the starting lineup.
