Summary

A spring injury to Isaiah Crowell opened the door for Martin to return for a second season in Oakland. He was solid for the Raiders in 2018, posting 839 yards from scrimmage and scoring four touchdowns. At 30-years old, Martin generated little interest on the open market before deciding to return to the Raiders to serve as a veteran mentor for rookie first-round pick Josh Jacobs. Martin isn't a lock to make the roster but should probably be considered the favorite for the #3 job behind Jacobs and Jalen Richard. Martin will have to hold off DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren III in what should be an open competition throughout the summer. Martin would need an injury to Jacobs to have any fantasy value. Even then, he would probably just be part of a three-man committee and not an impact performer. (May 23)
