Kroft is out for 3-4 months with a broken foot suffered May 20. He's likely to miss training camp and most of the preseason at a minimum, with the PUP list a possibility.

Summary

Kroft sustained a broken foot on the first day of OTAs, and is expected to miss three to four months, though there is no official timetable for him to return. Expected to start this season, it's hard to say what role Kroft will have this season when he returns. It's also worth noting that the last time a Bills tight end topped even 600 yards was when Scott Chandler did it in 2013. It may change but traditionally the Bills are not a prolific spot for tight ends to land. (May 29)

Bills | Tyler Kroft moving toward return (Sun Aug 18, 03:03 PM) - Buffalo Bills TE Tyler Kroft (foot) is 'moving in the right direction' in his recovery from foot surgery, according to head coach Sean McDermott Sunday, Aug. 18.

Our View: Kroft was signed to a three-year, $18.75 million contract earlier this offseason. The veteran could be in the mix for the No. 1 tight end position but he's far behind in the competition. McDermott didn't provide a timeline for Kroft's return to the field but added he has been working on his own behind the scenes.
