Summary

Case Keenum was a decade too early. As a starter at the University of Houston (2007-2011), Keenum threw 155 touchdowns playing in Art Briles wide open system; a system that's now making its way into NFL playbooks and being cultivated most notably in Arizona under new coach Kliff Kingsbury. Unfortunately, Keenum came into the league at a time when conventional wisdom viewed him as a weak-armed system quarterback, and his NFL resume matches that label. Washington is his fifth team in seven seasons, with only his one-year stint in Minnesota being an above-average endeavor. Keenum's tenure in Denver was equally short lived, and he'll now keep the seat warm for Dwayne Haskins. The only question is how many starts it'll take for Keenum to park his journeyman talents on the bench. (September 2)
