Summary

Kamara proved that his strong RB1 value wasn't based only on unsustainable efficiency last year. He was a terrific scorer and pass catcher as usual, but also played the bell cow role when Mark Ingram was out. Latavius Murray was added to replace Ingram, who left for Baltimore in free agency, and he's arguably not quite at Ingram's level, so this swap can only be seen as a plus for Kamara. The pass offense will have a deeper and more developed set of targets this year, which could be a small negative for him, but Kamara is also getting into his prime, turning 24 this year, so that progression in his career arc alone could help him surpass previous production levels. He's worth the premium pick it will take to land him. (May 1)

Saints | Eight catches for Alvin Kamara (Sun Nov 10, 05:02 PM) - New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara caught eight passes for 50 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. He was targeted 10 times during the game. He also rushed for 24 yards on four carries.

Our View: The offense didn't look as good with Kamara as it did the last two weeks before the bye with Latavius Murray featured. Kamara is still a good enough PPR play, but this is trending towards a committee.

Saints | Latavius Murray to remain involved (Fri Nov 8, 09:16 PM) - New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray will continue to have a big role in the offense against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10 despite the return of RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee), according to head coach Sean Payton. 'Week 1 of Alvin coming back,' Payton said. 'We'll be smart.'

Our View: Murray worked well in Kamara's absence. The Saints should use Murray the way they used Mark Ingram in tandem with Kamara for a couple of seasons. That makes Murray a RB3 or flex option with upside for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis.

Saints | Full practice for Alvin Kamara (Fri Nov 8, 06:44 PM) - New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.

Saints | New Orleans' Week 10 injury report (Fri Nov 8, 03:55 PM) - New Orleans Saints CB Patrick Robinson (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. OT Terron Armstead (illness) was added to the injury report Friday, Nov. 8, while TE Josh Hill (calf) was limited; both players have been cleared to play. TE Jared Cook (ankle), WR Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) fully participated in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Saints | Alvin Kamara willing to share (Fri Nov 8, 12:54 PM) - New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) is ready to return in Week 10 after a two-game, three-week absence and said he would be happy to share the workload with fellow RB Latavius Murray who shined in Kamara's absence. 'It's not like I'm selfish. I don't need the ball every play,' Kamara said. 'He's fully capable, too. So I think we'll get a good balance going, and it will be hard to stop.'

Our View: It should be a return to the Kamara/Ingram split with Latavius Murray playing so well in recent weeks while Kamara was out. Kamara's ceiling comes down a little bit, but his likelihood of re-injury does too, while Murray is a solid flex and bye RB2 play this week in a great matchup
