Summary

Jimmy Graham finished the 2018 season as the #12 tight end in PPR scoring, catching 55 passes on 91 targets for 636 yards and two touchdowns. Due to how shallow the tight end position has become, Graham was an every-week starter. With that said, Evan Engram, Jordan Reed and OJ Howard all averaged more points per game and would have finished ahead of Graham if they had played 16 games. That is concerning when you consider that Graham's 91 targets were the sixth most among all tight ends. Injuries have zapped Graham of his elite athleticism, but he still has size (6'6, 260 lbs), veteran savvy and Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball. The Packers brought in Graham to be a safety valve for Rodgers, but more importantly they expected him to be a mismatch in the red zone. That never materialized though, and although he looked slow and heavy-footed, his lack of use in the red zone is why Graham's value has decreased so rapidly heading into this year. The Packers used the 75th overall pick on tight end Jace Sternberger, and although he probably won't supplant Graham as the starter this year, the Packers will want to get him time on the field. The days of Graham being a #1 tight end are most likely over, although he does provide solid depth as a #2 option and a bye week fill in. (May 3)
