Godwin (hamstring) has gotten in limited practices and could play in Week 6

Chris Godwin progressed to new heights in 2019 with a massive third-year breakout, amassing more than 1,300 yards on 119 targets. Godwin had more targets than Mike Evans in more than half of their games together in 2019 and, importantly, Godwin projects as the more slot-centric option for new quarterback Tom Brady over the middle of the field. Competition will be high for targets within the Buccaneers' passing game between Godwin, Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski, and O.J. Howard atop the pecking order, but all four are higher level talents to exploit the likely reduced turnovers and quicker decision-making of Tom Brady under center. (July 16)

Buccaneers | Week 6 injury report for Tampa Bay (Fri Oct 16, 03:59 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis (abdomen), DL Khalil Davis (ankle) and RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 16, and are listed as questionable for Week 6 versus the Green Bay Packers. DL Ndamukong Suh (non-injury) and LB Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) did not practice Friday while WRs Mike Evans (ankle), S Jordan Whitehead (knee) and Scott Miller (hip, groin) were limited; all five have been removed from the injury report. LB Lavonte David (knee), WR Chris Godwin (hamstring), TE Rob Gronkowski (shoulder), RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) and WR Justin Watson (chest) practiced in full Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

Our View: It doesn't sound like Fournette is 100% yet, so expect Ronald Jones to continue to dominate the work in the backfield. Davis being less than 100% isn't great news as he'll face Davante Adams this week, who isn't on the injury report.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin shows well Friday (Fri Oct 16, 12:56 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) practiced Friday, Oct. 17, and looked 'the best he's looked in a while,' according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Our View: Godwin has a chance to play Sunday but we might have to wait until inactives are announced, which will be midway through the early games.

Buccaneers | Chris Godwin a limited participant (Thu Oct 15, 06:04 PM) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 15.

Our View: We should see Godwin out there for a big game against the Buccaneers. He's trending in the right direction but don't just set-it-and-forget-it with Godwin. Make sure he practices on Friday, and make sure that he's not a game-time decision. The point is; Fantasy GMs need to have other options at the ready.
