Engram (foot) is out for Week 14

Evan Engram is a glorified wide receiver because he's proven in two seasons blocking is not a strong suit. However, there's a place for a catch-first tight end in today's NFL, and Engram has the raw skill set to be among the most prolific pass catchers at the position. To reach that potential, Engram will need to improve his conditioning, ability to stay on the field, decision-making, and focus. He's earned a reputation for making spectacular plays look effortless and easy plays look hard; that won't lead to stardom if it persists. With Odell Beckham traded, Engram becomes the team's best vertical threat, and he should get opportunities to beat single coverage downfield presuming Eli Manning regains his willingness to throw deep. Engram's play digressed last year (45 catches for 477 yards and three touchdowns) after an impressive rookie season (64 receptions for 722 yards and six touchdowns), in part because of a concussion and knee and thigh injuries. But he's healthy now, and had a fantastic summer. He'll start the year as the team's best pass-catcher, and could push for top-4 fantasy honors. (September 2)

Giants | Evan Engram to miss another game (Sat Dec 7, 12:35 PM) - New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) on Saturday, Dec. 7, was ruled out of the team's Week 14 game Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Our View: We were hoping that Engram would get back out there this week but that's not the case. Engram and Rhett Ellison are out, so that means Kaden Smith should be the lead tight end for the Giants on Monday night.

Giants | Evan Engram not practicing Saturday (Sat Dec 7, 11:32 AM) - New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) was spotted using an exercise bike at practice Saturday, Dec. 7, but he went inside the team's facility when they began doing stretching exercises.

Our View: Engram is likely to miss another week with this injury. Fantasy GMs weren't going to wait around until Monday night anyway, so you likely have another plan in place.

Giants | Evan Engram listed as limited (Fri Dec 6, 06:58 PM) - New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 6.

Our View: Engram should be back Monday night against the Eagles. With Eli Manning at quarterback, things could be interesting for the Giants offense. We love Engram's talent but it will be difficult to trust him this first week back. He's a low-end TE1 for Fantasy GMs in Week 14.
