With both DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery hurt for most of the season, rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside had a perfect opportunity to lay claim to a starting role for years to come. It didn't happen. The 6-foot-3, 225 pounder couldn't earn the coaches or Carson Wentz' trust, in spite of ample playing time. He caught just 10 passes for 169 yards and one score in 16 games. His 46% catch rate was exceedingly low for a receiver whose future isn't as a pure outside vertical threat. A bad rookie year doesn't seal Arcega-Whiteside's fate, but the team isn't betting on a turnaround, either. The Eagles drafted three receivers and signed two more as priority rookie free agents. That's to say nothing of Jackson and Jeffery's healthy returns. (July 31)
