2013 Game Summaries

Week 2 - Summers plays fullback and was non-existent outside of two pass plays and a huge mistake on special teams. Running the same flat route to open both halves, Summers was able to amass 49 yards with a long of 34 yards. However, Summers biggest moment may have been a holding penalty he received on a Carolina punt. Prior to the ball actually being punted, Summers managed to catch a penalty for holding the long-snapper. The play gave Carolinaís offense a 1st down and ultimately they drove down the field and scored a TD. One of many bad penalties on the Bills, perhaps none were as costly.

Week 7 - The Bills fullback, Summers was given consecutive carries to open the teamís sixth drive. Summers clearly surprised the defense as he gave the filling defender a very subtle cut in the hole to beat him for a 16-yard gain. Buffalo went right back to Summers on the following play, but a more prepared defense easily stopped the run for no gain.

Week 8 - Summers received one carry on Sunday, but only picked up three yards as the Bills decided to change things up and give their fullback a carry.

Week 11 - Summers only carried the ball twice for four yards, but he did score the lone rushing touchdown. Summers took the quick handoff straight into the teeth of the Jet defensive line and burst through unscathed on the run. Summers also caught one pass, picking up five yards on the quick dump off in the flat.

Week 15 - Summers received a surprising four carries on Sunday, including one red zone carry, but it was his work in the passing game that really stood out. Summers caught three passes, including a long of 11 yards and was the recipient of Manuelís game winning TD pass in the 4th quarter. Lined up in the backfield with Jackson, Summers ran uncovered into the end zone as Manuel faked to Jackson and the QB softly lofted the pass for the easy TD.

Week 16 - Summers received two consecutive carries with the game well in hand on the Bills final drive. Both went right at the middle of the line and included a long of five yards.
