2013 Game Summaries

Week 9 - Given numerous injuries to the receiving core, Salas was signed off the practice squad and looked surprisingly explosive in limited action. Jeremy Kerley left midway through the second quarter, so Salas filled in and played well. Both of Salas’ reception occurred behind the line of scrimmage where he used his speed and elusiveness to create plays. Midway through the second quarter, Salas turned a quick bubble screen into a 13-yard gain that led to Geno Smith’s rushing touchdown. After halftime, on a 3rd-and-10 play, Salas caught another quick screen behind the line of scrimmage, followed his blockers and accelerated into the open field for a 44-yard gain.

Week 11 - Jeremy Kerley is recovering from an elbow dislocation, so Greg Salas’ snap count has increased. Early in the first quarter, Salas ran a quick slant route and secured a 10-yard gain. Late in the fourth quarter, Salas ran a deep drag towards the right sideline and secured a 22-yard gain.

Week 12 - Once again, Jeremy Kerley missed the game with an elbow injury and Greg Salas started in his place. Geno Smith targeted Salas on both short routes and deep seam routes. Early the first quarter, Salas ran an intermediate crossing route and secured an 18-yard gain. Late in the fourth quarter, Salas ran a deep seam route and got behind the safety for a 30-yard gain. Salas was targeted in the end zone on Smith’s second interception, but the pass was poorly thrown and he was not able to make a play.
