2013 Game Summaries
Week 7 - Phillips is not a key part of the passing game, but he did show some nice skills in this game on a short reception. He made a sliding grab on a ball that was thrown behind him. However, he apparently ran the wrong route on the play, as Philip Rivers yelled at him in a very animated tone and made demonstrative gestures to turn it up the field.
Week 11 - Phillips is a total afterthought in the offense, used almost solely as a blocker. But every once in awhile, the Chargers reach into the bag of tricks and design a play for him. This game saw a run formation designed for a throwback across the field to Phillips that ended up going for 13 yards.
