Week 17 - Curtis Painter was very unproductive for the Giants on Sunday afternoon against the Redskins but he was placed in a difficult situation. The weather was miserable, he was coming in relief of injured Eli Manning and his receivers did not play well. Painter took over in the second half and played the rest of the game. Painter threw a nice pass on a deep seam route to Brandon Myers in the endzone but Myers inexplicably dropped the perfect pass and it was subsequently picked off due to a tipped football situation. Painter should have been intercepted on a pass over the middle but the defender could not secure the pass and it fell incomplete. Painter and the Giants used the running game a lot in the second half as they controlled the game with a healthy lead on Washington. Painter did not have many pass attempts and looked very average on the field. Itís very unlikely that Painter will see any significant playing time with the Giants next year as he is a career backup.
