Outlook

Harbor had a nice first season in Jacksonsville picking up 24 receptions, 292 yards, and 2 touchdowns. As a backup TE those numbers helped earn him a new 2 year contract worth $3 million. Harbor is a solid backup TE behind Marcedes Lewis, but will not have much fantasy relevance.

2013 Game Summaries

Week 1 - Harbor caught Gabbert's first attempt of the day, a quick curl underneath against zone coverage.

Week 2 - Harbor only had one reception in Week 1 and that reception came early in the game. He had another early reception in this game, but it was on a play that went for a first down on third and three. The Jaguars rolled the pocket to the left side, with Harbor sneaking out to the same side. He caught the ball short of the first down marker before extending to move the chains. Harbor caught another pass for a first down in the second quarter, as the Jaguars found him on a well executed screen pass. Harbor used his blocking well for a 17 yard gain. Henne looked to Harbor in the endzone on the same drive, but the tight end was well covered and Henne's pass flew over his head. Harbor didn't disappear in this game. In fact, he caught a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter as he ran between defenders at the line of scrimmage.

Week 4 - Harbor wasn't involved at all until the fourth quarter. On the very first play of the fourth quarter, he caught a deep pass after running a crossing route. He kept working after Gabbert extended the play. Harbor's only other catch came underneath against prevent defense on the second last play of the game.

Week 5 - Early in the second quarter, Harbor saw his first target. He caught the ball on a play-action screen pass before working his way downfield. However, at the end of the run Harbor lost the football and the Rams recovered in excellent field position. The Jaguars did go back to Harbor. He nearly caught a touchdown pass after coming free on a crossing route in the redzone. Late in the third quarter, Harbor caught another bubble screen for a substantial gain but this time he didn't fumble the football.

Week 6 - Harbor wasn't involved on offense as the Jaguars used a lot of play action that kept the tight end in blocking. He caught his first pass in the fourth quarter when he was left uncovered running down the seam. Two plays later, Henne went back to Harbor underneath as he caught a first down pass between two defenders.

Week 8 - Harbor wasn't targeted until the fourth quarter. On fourth down, he caught a wide open curl route for a short gain and a first down.

Week 11 - The Cardinals forgot to cover Clay Harbor on the outside in the first quarter. Henne threw the ball to him immediately for a first down. Harbor caught a short bubble screen in the second quarter. Harbor made a good reception in traffic over the middle for nine yards.

Week 12 - Harbor caught a pass underneath on second and long in the third quarter. That was his first target of the day.

Week 13 - Harbor caught a pass on the very first play of the game....then he fumbled the ball. The Jaguars ran play action sending Harbor across the formation behind the line of scrimmage. He was wide open and lost the ball as he fell to the ground untouched. Midway through the first quarter, Harbor made up for his fumble by catching a touchdown pass off of play action. Harbor came free on a deep out route before running inside the pylon.

Week 15 - Harbor was in line to see the field more because of the absence of Cecil Shorts. His first target and reception came late in the first quarter on a quick slant route. He had another late in the second quarter, but Henne overthrew him down the sideline. On the same drive, Harbor came wide open down the seam and Henne found him for a big play. Late in the fourth quarter, Harbor caught a pass by the sideline for a first down.

Week 16 - The Jaguars tried to find Harbor on a fourth down attempt late in the first quarter. Harbor ran down the middle of the field, but was well covered underneath with a safety coming across. He couldn't rise above the defender for the reception.

Week 17 - Harbor had just two receptions in the game. His first came late in the first quarter when he was left wide open in the flat for a first down. His second reception came on a screen pass in the second quarter. Harbor wasn't being heavily featured in the offense, but he likely would have had more receptions if he hadn't injured his ankle on that play. He twisted awkwardly while catching the ball and was unable to return to the field.
