2013 Game Summaries

Week 5 - Goodson saw his first official action as a New York Jet. Goodson played a limited number of snaps, but looked explosive. Goodson caught Smith’s first completion on a key 3rd-and-2 that extended the first drive. Early in the 2nd quarter, Goodson lined up as the Wildcat QB and took the snap off left tackle for a 26-yard gain. Goodson showed burst and explosion as he beat the linebacker to the edge and accelerated down the left sideline. Goodson’s speed and vision brought life back into the Wildcat package. Goodson did not play at all during the 2nd half, but no injury was reported.

Week 6 - Once again, Mike Goodson proved he is New York’s most explosive running back, but a serious knee injury may sideline him. Late in the fourth quarter, Goodson was chasing down Lawrence Timmons after Geno Smith’s interception and appeared to injure his knee after making the tackle. Prior to the injury, Goodson looked explosive on the edges. Two of Goodson’s four carries went for gains of 10+ yards. Late in the fourth quarter, Goodson took a shotgun snap off right tackle for an 18-yard gain.
